This session will identify health care career pathways for today s students and resources needed to bring their future to fruition Lara Morris, ODCTE Sex Trafficking-ICAC Talk The session will be on how children are exploited on the internet. How pedators groom their victims and tactics they use to trick children into doing things such as meeting for sex and/or sexting. Methods on monitoring children to protect them on the internet and how to detect an exploited child who may be suffering from a predator exploitation. Capt Adam Flowers, Canadian County Sheriff s Office Reed C Virtual Dementia Tour The Virtual Dementia Tour Comprehensive Program, a valuable, easy-to-follow experiential training program, is designed for use by care giving facilities and community organizations to help identify with and understand behaviors and needs of people living with dementia.

Music for the Ages This session is a follow up from last year s Leadership and Learning Opportunities through Music and Memory session. Learn how two of our instructors implemented this program within their classroom and a local health care setting helping clients feel happier, more social, less anxious just more able to enjoy life. It is geared for the program that are just implementing clinical simulation into their curriculum and need to know how to get the students ready for the experience. Virtual Dementia Tour The Virtual Dementia Tour allows people to experience daily situations through the lens of a person living with dementia. Participants are guided through everyday tasks and experiences while outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses. The tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, and use the experience to provide better person-centered care. Peer Mentoring Educators need to find ways to help decrease the stress of beginning a nursing program. Pairing new students with student mentors is one way of accomplishing this goal. Evidence-based research shows that a peer mentorship program can decrease anxiety, increase program retention and create and promote a positive learning environment. Join Heather Meadows as she shares her story of surviving a heart injury with third degree burns, and how those experiences as a patient inspire her work as a nurse today. Explore the impact of a positive mindset on the work environment, and walk away with inspirational elements to continually provide meaningful patient care in this compassionate profession of serving others.
