Dear Applicant, We appreciate your interest in working with the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission (WWICC). To make sure we serve you best we will need some information about your project and how you would like to work with the WWICC. All requests are subject to approval by the WWICC. World War One Centennial Commission Mission Statement The U.S. World War One Centennial Commission was created by an Act of Congress in January 2013. Members of the 12-member Commission were appointed by the President and the leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the National World War I Museum. The Commission s mission is to plan, develop, and execute programs, projects and activities to commemorate the Centennial of World War I (WWI). Over the next five years the Commission intends to: Develop educational programs targeted at a variety of audiences and delivered through a variety of broadcast, print and digital media, with the goal of increasing awareness and informing Americans about the country s most forgotten war. Organize activities, events, and symposia to commemorate American involvement in the Great War. Establish a National World War I Memorial in Washington DC, and bring attention to the thousands of World War I memorials in communities across the country that honor Americans who served in the war. Serve as a clearinghouse for the collection and dissemination of information about events and activities related to the Centennial Commemoration. Types of support we typically provide: Endorsement and Logo Licensing Section I. WWICC logos and logo elements are licensed trademarks. All parties using the logo must receive written permission from the WWICC determined by a variety of factors, to include (but not limited to): Organization (Government/Non-Profit/For-Profit), organizational history, and project relevancy to WWI. Use of a commission logo is subject to the Licensing Trademark 1
Agreement and must be used only for the expressed written purpose as stated in the agreement. Written endorsement of your project can also be provided upon request. Commemorative Partnership Sections I and II. The WWICC formally recognizes commemorative partners who demonstrate a commitment to educating the public about WWI and honoring those who served. To be formally recognized you must receive a majority vote from the WWICC. Commemorative Partners Receive: 1. Use of the WWICC logo 2. Endorsement letter (upon request) 3. Recognition on the WWICC webpage with link to organization s website 4. Event promotion through WWICC stakeholder distribution channels 5. Shared logo branding (when appropriate and approved) Film/TV/Books/Game etc. (Majority Commission Vote) Sections I & III This endorsement will require an in-depth examination of the project. Necessary information includes: Detailed project information, previous track record to include distribution and audience, plus status of current funding.
