DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY HEADQUARTERS UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS WASHINGTON, DC 20380 MCO 10200.9 PST MARINE CORPS ORDER 10200.9 From: Commandant of the Marine Corps To: Distribution List Subj: MATERIEL FIELDING PLAN (MFP) FOR THE TOOL SET, FIELD MAINTENANCE (FM), 4TH ECHELON, CUMMINS FAMILY OF ENGINES, C9669 Ref: (a) MCO P5000.10C (b) MCO P4105.3 Encl: (1) Materiel Fielding Plan (MFP) for the Tool Set, FM, 4th Echelon, Cummins Family of Engines, C9669 1. Purpose. To provide guidance per references (a) and (b) to sustain the tool set and to document the circumstances under which the tool set was developed. 2. Information. Circa 1984 an ad hoc Tool Sets, Kits, and Chests Standardization and Modernization Committee determined that rather than keep cummins engine tools in the special tool sets for each vehicle, it would be more convenient/efficient to develop a single tool set. At that time, Tool Set, FM, 4th Echelon for the Cummins Family of Engines, TAMCN C6615 was developed by extracting engine tools from two other tool sets to assemble C6615. Additional SAC-1 tools were procured and force-fed to using units by the Commanding General, (Code 853-2), Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA to complete the tool set. These actions were never formally documented. This Order corrects that deficiency. No new/additional items will be issued as a result of publication of this MFP. The enclosure is for record purposes and a basis for further action. 3. Action a. Gaining Command. Per paragraph 4 of the enclosure. b. CG MCRDAC. Per paragraph 4 of the enclosure. c. CG MCLB Albany, GA. Per paragraph 4 of the enclosure. d. CMC (LPP-4). Per paragraph 4 of the enclosure.

4. Reserve Applicability. This Order is applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve. DISTRIBUTION: PCN 10211013700 Copy to: 7000110 (55) 7230054/055 (5) 8145005 (2) 7000106, 144/8145001 (1) 2

MATERIEL FIELDING PLAN (MFP) FOR THE TOOL SET, FM, 4TH ECHELON, CUMMINS FAMILY OF ENGINES, C9669 1. Introduction a. Source of Requirement. The Marine Corps has a variety of tactical equipment that utilizes Cummins Diesel engines. A requirement exists for 4th echelon maintenance facilities to possess certain engine tools/instruments for repair of these items. This effort is part of an overall problem to standardize and modernize tool sets, kits, and chests. b. Points of Contact Title NAME UNIT/CODE COMMERCIAL/(AV) Project Mr. R. Snyder CG MCRDAC (703) 696-1157 Officer (PST-A) (DSN) 226-1157 Item Mr. R. Greenleaf CG MCLB (912) 439-6535 Manager Albany, GA (DSN) 567-6535 (Code 835-1) c. Fielding Methodology. No new or additional assets will be fielded with the publication of this Order. In 1984 (approximately), a HQMC ad hoc Tool Sets, Kits, and Chests Standardization and Modernization Committee developed Tool Set, FM, 4th Echelon for the Cummins Family of Engines, TAMCN C6615, to provide 4th echelon maintenance shops with a full complement of tools and instruments to support the full range of Cummins Diesel engines. The Commanding General, (Code 835-2), Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA was tasked (and funded) to procure and distribute additional tools for the set. Engine tools were also extracted from the two tool sets listed below for inclusion into C6615. (1) Tool Set, Field Maintenance, 4th Echelon, for Landing Vehicle, Tracked LVT7A1 Family of Vehicles, NSN 5180-01-131-0850, SL-3-07431B. (2) Tool Kit, Field and Depot Maintenance, 4th and 5th Echelon for Truck, 5-Ton 6x6, M813A1, M814, M818, and M923, M925, M928, M929, M931, and M936, NSN 5180-00-762-1741, SL-3-08428A. Additionally, TAMCN C6615 was subsequently changed to C9669. For using units with components to tool set (TAMCN C9669) missing, 1

locally funded requisitions must be submitted to correct the deficiency. For using units that cannot account for end item assets (e.g., entire tool set), after local research and documentation of the circumstances, submit a requisition for the deficient asset per routine procedures. d. Replaced Item. Not applicable. 2. Systems Description a. 3. Logistics Support a. Maintenance Concept (1) Organizational Level Maintenance. First echelon maintenance consists of normal cleaning, inventory and replacement of unserviceable components as required. No 2d echelon maintenance is required. (2) Intermediate Level Maintenance. Intermediate level maintenance is limited to components requiring calibration (and repair) and will be accomplished at 4th echelon by MOS s 2871 and 2874 at the supporting calibration facility. No 3d echelon maintenance is required. (a) Calibration. Calibration of applicable components of the tool kit is required per TI-4733-15/1. Those items requiring calibration are identified by NSN in the Master Data List (MDL) with an Operational Test Code (OTC) of 3. (3) Depot Level Maintenance. Not applicable. b.
