Export Performance Monitor Statistics Department, EEPC Head Office Exports growing steadily Provisional figures available for November 2006 show that exports were valued at US $ 9680.53 million (Rs.43417.85 crore) during the month of November 2006 compared with US $ 6163.92 million (Rs.28185.45 Crore) in November, 2005. value of exports for the period April- November, 2006 was US $ 79587.05 million (Rs. 364196.27 Crore) as against US $ 57056.83 million (Rs.251173.34 Crore) during the same period last year. (Source: Ministry of Commerce, Press Release) Engineering export recorded heavy growth According to the provisional data available from DGCI&S up to September 2006, India s export of engineering goods have posted a strong growth of 41.24% during April- September 2006-07 in comparison to the same period in the previous fiscal. The provisional data indicate that exports of engineering goods from India have reached USD 12851.66 million up to September 2006. In the month of September 2006 Exports of Engineering goods were to the tune of USD 2440.49 million which is 61.02% higher during the same period last year. In rupee terms India s export of engineering goods are valued at Rs 59053.67 crores during April-September 2006-07 which is 48.68% higher than the value of export of Rs 39717.32 during April-September 2005-2006.
