I he been provided with information to help answer your request by Dr Paul Allan, Clinical Director, Imaging Radiology, NHS Lothian. How many CT scanners are ailable to the trust. Please note that there are no NHS Trusts in NHS Scotland. There are currently 6 CT scanners operational within Lothian:- 2 - Western General Hospital 2 - Royal Infirmary 1 - St Johns Hospital 1 - Royal Hospital for Sick Children The scanner provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has not been installed. Appointment and management systems he still to be established but we can confirm that the scanner will be used for treating NHS patients and for clinical research. How many working hours are those scanners ailable for patients. See capacity table attached. How many working hours are those scanners used for patients. All funded patient s as indicated in the capacity table are appointed to. How many failed (Did Not Arrive - DNA) CT appointments NHS Lothian is currently unable to obtain accurate DNA data from TRAK but this is currently being addressed. Staff endeour to scan in-patients from the wards, where possible, if there are vacant out-patient DNA slots, to ensure continuous throughput of patients on the scanners. As per Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 formally I must inform you that NHS Lothian do not hold this information. The number of working hours the CT scanner donated by RBS was ailable for patients. The RBS scanner has not been installed, however the spit will be - 51% University of Edinburgh/Research (many of these subjects will also be patients), with the remaining 49% ailable to book for patients. The number of working hours the CT scanner donated by RBS was used for patients. The RBS scanner has not been installed. Appointment and management systems he still to be established so we are unable to give the actual numbers for hours ailable and hours used for NHS patients. As per Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 formally I must inform you that NHS Lothian do not hold this information. I hope this information helps with your request. If you are unhappy with our response to your request, you do he the right to request us to review it. Your request should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter, and we will reply within 20 working days of receipt. If our decision is unchanged following a review and you remain dissatisfied with this, you then he the right to make a formal complaint to the Scottish Information Commissioner. If you require a review of our decision to be carried out, please write to Mr I Whyte, FOI Reviewer at the address at the foot of this letter. The review will be undertaken by Mr Whyte as he was not involved in the original decision making process.
