In additin t ur wrk in Basic Needs, we are fcused n three cmmitments t ensure every persn can learn mre, earn enugh and live a healthy life: Educatin: Imprve high schl graduatin rates and reduce racial and ecnmic disparities in graduatin rates. Incme: Increase the number f ecnmically stable husehlds in the regin. Health: Imprve family and infant health and reduce racial and ecnmic disparities in related indicatrs. Additinally, UWBCKR is fcused n investments in prgrams that will demnstrate bth the ability t make measurable prgress n targeted Cmmunity-Level Educatin, Incme and Health Gals and t reduce the impact f racial and ecnmic disparities fr prgram clients. CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBLE APPLICANT ORGANIZATION An applicant rganizatin (whether applying itself r acting as lead agency r fiduciary) must adhere t the fllwing eligibility criteria fr funding cnsideratin: Tax-exempt under sectin 501(c) (3) f the Internal Revenue Cde r as a Public Entity. Operate within the Battle Creek/Kalamaz regin and/r serve residents f the regin. Prhibit discriminatin based n race, clr, religin, age, sex (including pregnancy), natinal rigin, marital status, sexual rientatin, gender identificatin, veteran status, disability, genetic infrmatin, height r weight. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE UWBCKR staff will prvide the fllwing technical assistance upn request: 1) assessment f prgram alignment within the Educatin, Incme r Health cmmunity level gal; 2) identifying apprpriate prgram-level data t cllect and reprt; and 3) cmpletin f funding applicatins via the e-cimpact system. GRANT APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS Cmpleted grant applicatins submitted by the deadline f May 18, 2018 will be accepted fr review and cnsideratin fr funding by UWBCKR s Cmmunity Impact Cabinet. Grant applicatins nt submitted r partially cmpleted by the stated deadline will nt be accepted fr review and cnsideratin. REPORTING and PARTICIPATION REQUIRMENTS If the prpsed prgram is apprved fr funding, the applicant rganizatin is respnsible fr the management and versight f the prgram and will receive a Funding Cntract explaining the expectatins as a grantee f UWBCKR. This cntract shuld be signed and returned t United Way, indicating that the funded partner understands and accepts the cntract cnditins. At the cmpletin f the eligible time perid fr the grant, there will be a Year-End Grant Reprt required fr submissin via the e-cimpact system. 1
