The The Florida Workers Compensation Institute, Inc. Presents Spring Forum on Workers Compensation Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Caribe Royale Orlando All-Suites Hotel & Convention Center, 8101 World Center Drive, Florida Workers Compensation: Claim Strategies For Dealing With The Ever-Changing Law The Florida workers compensation system has experienced unprecedented changes since the 2003 revisions in the law. This year s Spring Forum will examine: Legislative, regulatory, and judicial updates on workers compensation issues; A judicial panel with four outstanding judges; Federal laws effecting Florida workers compensation; Case law update considering big cases decided since last year s conference; Developing claims strategies in response to the changing laws, legislatively created and judicially mandated; Practical tips for handling workers compensation cases; Understanding how workers compensation judges think, what they expect from litigants, and perhaps most importantly, aggravations you need to avoid; Ethical considerations for adjusters and special breakouts for employers. Practical application of the developing law and ethics are the central focus of this year s forum. Each attendee will be provided with a course book, with statutory references, outlines, handouts, and copies of bills adopted by the 2013 Legislature.
