U.S. ARMY HUMAN RESOURCES COMMAND ALEXANDRIA VA 22332 0470 PERMANENT ORDERS 120-14 30 April 2010 Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 149th company B, 1st Battalion, 149th company C (Less Detachment), 1st Battalion, 149th company D, 1st Battalion, 149th company E, 1st Battalion, 149th company A, 1st Battalion, 135th Troop E, 104th Cavalry Announcement is made of the following award: Award: Meritorious Unit Commendation Period of service: 23 July 2006 to 8 July 2007 Authority: AR 600-8-22, paragraph 7-15 ' Reason: For exceptionally meritorious service. 'During the period 23 July 2006 to 8 July 2007, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 149th and its subordinate units displayed exceptionally meritorious service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a corps-level attack helicopter battalion, the unit provided Aerial Weapons Team support to Coalition Forces throughout Iraq and displayed outstanding courage and tenacity infrequent engagements with the enemy.in addition, the'.constant drive of the battalion's support elements to sustain the battalion's combat power greatly enhanced the ability of Coalition Forces to bring the fight to the enemy, to destroy the enemy's initiative, and to provide a safer and more secure existence for the people of Iraq. Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 149th 's outstanding performance of duty is in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflects,distinct credit upon the unit, the 36th Combat Brigade, Multi-National CorpS-Iraq, and the United States Army. Format: 320 Additional Instructions: This order serves as official notification that a unit award has been approved for the organization (s) listed above and will serve as authority for eligible Soldiers to update their records and wear the award. The award is still subject to final confirmation in Department of the Army General Orders. Official verification 'of a specific unit's entitlement to,display the award in the form of an appropriate streamer on its flag or guidon rests with the U.S. Army Center of Military History (CMH), which is also responsible for determining official unit Lineage and Honors for MTOE

George Mason Dr., Arlington, VA 22204-1382 FOR Commander, 1 st Battalion, 149th, 1182 Ellington Field, Houston, TX 77034 SUBJECT: Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC) - PERMANENT ORDERS 1. U.S. Army Human Resources Command Permanent Order (PO) 071-06, dated 11 March 2008, originally authorized award of the MUC to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 149th and its subordinate units for the period 23 July 2006 to 8 July 2007. However, the order erroneously excluded certain subunits which were intended for decoration. 2. As a result, PO 071-06 has been revoked. The order has been superseded by PO 120-14, dated 30 April 2010, which correctly identifies all units authorized this decoration and serves as final authority for the award until publication in the Department of the Army General Orders. 3. The relevant revocation and permanent orders are enclosed. In addition, certificates and streamer(s) for the units not previously recognized in this decoration are enclosed. Individual ribbons (emblems) should be procured through local supply channels. Permanent wear of the MUC for military personnel is governed by the provisions of AR 670-1. 4.
