Orbis Flying Eye Hospital - Shenyang Meeting Overview From September 5, 2016 until September 23, 2016 the new Orbis Flying Eye Hospital will conduct its first ever medical and clinical program in Shenyang in cooperation with He University Eye Hospital and the National Training Base for the Prevention of Blindness of P.R.. This historic program will feature training across a wide variety of children s and adult s eye diseases for ophthalmologists, bio-medical engineers, nurses, residents and other eye care team members. This program will draw great attention from government, business, medical and civil society communities. In order to maximize this incredible platform we are planning to host a variety of high level symposium during the three week program. Refractive error is the major cause for the uncorrected visual acuity, of which myopia is the first. Myopia is the most common refractive errors in the world. Missing prevention and control of myopia at the early stage increases the likelihood of life-long eye care problems. The current number of people with myopia in is 400 million among 1.3 billion population in. Myopia affects 1 in 3 people in and is fast becoming a major public health issue. In particular, the prevalence of myopia among school-aged children has increased dramatically as has the second highest onset rate and largest number of people with juvenile myopia in the world. In order to globally improve the ability of juvenile myopia prevention and control, research and studies regarding juvenile visual development, prediction, prevention and early interventions of juvenile myopia are actively being conducted.
