Empower The Yiwu E-commerce Entrepreneurship Immersion Programme was conceived after we visited the Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, a school led by Associate Professor Jia Shao Hua, who is famous in China for transforming young college students who were poor academically and financially into successful entrepreneurs, by getting students to start business during their school days and integrating the e- commerce platform of Tao Bao into the business curriculum. His feat, in fact, brought the school media attention from colleges and tertiary institutions from all over the world. In fact, we were deeply moved when A.Prof Jia shared how he has been spending years thinking of how these academically poor students in China who are not talented in the mainstream education, can actually craft out a success path. His answer is Entrepreneurship. He believes that Entrepreneurship can change lives and shape destinies, whether you are scoring A or F in academics! Network with Chinese students of their age who are running their online business and raking in a substantial monthly income to support themselves as well as their family.
