Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri Monthly Report- July 2017 Inter School Events 24.07.17 Students of class XII from Legal studies participated in Court Room Simulation based on debating and the topic was The death penalty must be abolished in India organized by Ahlcon Public School. Intra School Events 12.07.17 To create an enabling environment for school safety & to spread awareness among school staff & students, an earthquake mock drill was conducted. Continuous implementation of Disaster management Awareness & Preparedness Programme is organised in the school. 13.07.17 A Theatre in Education event for the students of class VII based on Nobel Laureates in Science was held. The event included a small skit on the life history of few Nobel Laureates like Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, C.V. Raman and Chandrasekhar and ended with a group song on the theme Success and a question answer session. 14.07.17 Students of our school conducted an introduction session for Behtar India by NDTV, India. Problems such as hygiene, pollution, water shortage and diseases were emphasized. Children were made aware of the precautions and causes of dengue. The students were motivated and encouraged to donate for the betterment of these children in return of which they will earn points in order to work for a bigger goal that is to make India a Behtar place.

14.07.17 The Scholar Badge Ceremony was organized in the school to acknowledge the efforts of the students who secured perfect score i.e. 10 CGPA in class X in All India School Certificate Examination and for the stream toppers and the students scoring 90% and above marks in class XII AISSCE 2016-17. 15.07.17 SPACE Club organized a workshop for the Astronomy Club students was conducted by Educators from SPACE Organization with the topic of The Science of Light to honor the year 2015-THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF LIGHT. The students observed the reflection, refraction, total internal reflection, convergence and divergence of light experimentally using innovative teaching aids including unbreakable lenses, mirrors, prisms and slabs.

18.07.17 The students of class VIII enacted important events from Indian history such as the scene of Partition of Bengal, the Swadeshi movement, Dandi March and the final enactment was the bombing of the National Assembly at Delhi by Bhagat Singh. The hard work and the acting skills of the students were appreciated by all. 18.07.17 United Information Centre & Working Group on Alternative Strategies organized the Nelson Mandela International Day at India International Centre, Lodhi Estate. Students of class XI and XII of Humanities & Political Science department participated in this event. 20.07.17 The Investiture Ceremony for the year 2017-18 was held. Dr. Poornima Sunil Talwar, Assoc. Professor in Commerce, an alumnus of the school as the special guest. The students were conferred with badges and sashes by the Principal and the Chief Guest. This was followed by the oath taking ceremony and students affirmed they will abide by the school rules and upholding its traditions and values. 25.07.17 School conducted a Parent Orientation for parents of class XI to provide information about the syllabus, assessments, parent portal to encourage them to keep moving ahead towards success with hard work.

26.07.17 A special assembly was presented by the students of classes III and V on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. It is named after the success of Operation Vijay the armed conflict between India and Pakistan to honour. The soldiers above all others and pray for peace as it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war. 26.07.17 SPACE club had organized an online interaction with Dr. Kartik Kumar, Analog Astronaut, and Austrian Space Forum involved in Mars analog simulation missions to test processes, interfaces, and systems to support future human missions to the Red Planet. 27.07.17 Science Show and Tell Competition was organized for Class V students who forward their experiments with confidence and precision. 27.07.17 The Students of class IX conducted an Intersection G.K. Quiz Know your world in the school. This quiz helped the students to gather knowledge about their country and the world. 29.07.17 The Music Society of the school organized a concert on Music of Northern India. Ira Bhatnagar, President of the Music Society, Introduced the history of Natyashashtra, advent of Persian Music and division of Indian Music into Hindustani Music (North India) and Carnatic Music (South India). Our talented young musicians along with some alumnus also performed for the audience. a

Workshops and Seminars 01.07.17 The writers workshop organized by Learn Today was at the third series of the four sessions of largely perspective exercises for language teachers at our school. Ms. Langer and Ms. Soin pointing out nitty-gritties and recommendations for the teachers pieces with scrupulous care. The teachers were encouraged to react to the edits and think about the changes that were recommended in diligently edited articles sent and returned over the course of the summer vacations. 08.07.17 The Commerce department held a workshop on Recent Changes in Accountancy for Class XI & XII. The workshop was attended by more than 220 teachers from schools in Delhi/NCR based on the academic topics: such as writing off discount or loss on issue of Debentures, Change in DRR rule & Journal Entries for GST. 11.07.17 History Society of ERC, Noida organized a workshop on Writing an Intellectual History attended by Students of Class XI, XII and History teachers. Mrs. Gitanjali Surendran, speaker enlightened students on what writing an intellectual history meant and shared views on the caste system.

13.07.17 The Chemistry department presented a workshop on "River Yamuna - a living entity" Students of class XII and teachers shared the sources which pollute the river; to the ph value of water, BOD, COD, stretch the efforts to be taken to regain the past glory of the holy river. The workshop sensitized everyone to the environment. 26.07.17 The students of class XII of Political Science organized a One Hour Simulation of Lok Sabha and presented Parliamentary procedure like introduction of new Minister, Oath taking of the new member, Question Hour, and the Legislative Business. 28.07.17 The students of class VII and VIII attended a legal literacy session of the Delhi State Legal Service Authority (DSLSA). The Metropolitan Judge Session Court (South Delhi District) Sri Chandrajeet Singh conducted the session and was focused on the Environment Law in India and the Right to Life (Article 21) included in the wholesome environment.

Educational Trips and Excursions 20.7.17-20.7.17 Students of class 9 visited the National Science Centre, Delhi and explored the different exhibits & experiments and had fun with science based on Contraction of Muscles, Science of Sphere, the heritage building gallery, the metallurgy exhibits and enjoyed mirror maze, mathematics games, quiz etc. It was an initiation to develop interest in the students towards science. 29.07.17 Students of class III and class V visited the Craft Museum and saw different types of masks, kitchen items, toys, famous monuments, statues of Hindu gods and goddess made with clay, metal, ivory, wood etc. They were also shown an interesting documentary on wood craft. A musical puppet show was arranged by the museum staff which was enjoyed by the children. 29.07.17 All Admn. Staff and teachers attended the Soft Skills workshops conducted by ERC, Noida.
