In the event of a medical emergency, you and your colleagues will be well prepared to respond to a sick child (or adult!). Because this is a team, take comfort in knowing that you are never alone! In adopting the Code Ana Program, which includes the development and implementation of a Code Ana Medical Emergency Response Protocol, more folks at school will be aware of what a medical emergency looks like and how to get help. THANK YOU for being the first first-responders! This training manual will help you and your teammates develop then implement your school s Code Ana Medical Emergency Response Plan. Take notes as we build on pre-existing protocols. No need to re-create the wheel! Let s do this! Dr. Hoyt and the Code Ana Team 3

This Code Ana Hub is often located at the school s front desk as, many times, this position is the only location in the school that is manned 100% of the time during school hours.
