The Mastiff Club of Northern Ohio was created in 2008 for Ohio and all surrounding areas and is gradually spreading to include Mastiff-lovers in many states. It is a slowly developing club... starting as an excuse to gather at the dog shows and growing into a great little Mastiff support group. We are open to all ideas and suggestions to improve the club. Our members range from long -time breeders to firsttime owners. The Mastiff Club of Northern Ohio currently has 65 members covering 7 different states. Changes, additions and inquiries may be sent to Tammy at eyotamastiffs@roadrunner.com Spring is Here! Or Is It? Although the weather isn t exactly cooperating, spring really is here, and this summer looks to be a busy one. Many of us are gearing up for the big Bucks/Trenton shows and the National Specialty, but that s just the beginning of the long show season we enjoy throughout the summer. For those who are attending the National Specialty, have a wonderful, successful and safe trip! Take lots of pictures to share with those not going! We ll recap the schedule for the specialty, and some of the events going on that you may want to attend. CLUB EVENTS On May 28th, we ll be having a Mastiff Fun Match and Picnic at the New Castle, PA show. Please feel free to invite all Mastiff folks to enter and attend! There is a sign up sheet included in the newsletter on page 5. Feel free to pass these out at shows you ll be attending between now and the day of the match! Don t Forget! Club Meeting April 2011 To Show or Not to Show With the price of gas going up, and a wealth of possible shows to choose from in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Indiana, how do you choose? One great resource for comparing information on judges is the website: http://www.showdays.info Here you ll find a ratings system and reviews for hundreds of AKC approved judges to help make your decision a little easier. MCONO will be donating a raffle basket at the Specialty. Our theme is 'Dog Days of Summer' and we want to have fun with this! We are asking that every member donate, keeping a regional theme in mind.
