Jr. & Sr. Council will not have meetings this month. This month s Community Service Project will be the 10th Annual Hill Country Cowboy Breakfast on Friday, January 10th from 6-8 a.m. on the Kerr County Courthouse Lawn. We will need some council members to help serve food & drinks at the event. If you are wanting to help, please be at the Courthouse no later than 5:45 a.m. dressed WARM but nice. Please let the Extension Office know ahead of time if you are wanting to help out so that we can send a letter to your school excusing your tardiness to school that morning. The San Antonio Stock Show is looking for enthusiastic, responsible 4-H members 8 th thru 12 th grade to serve as school tour guides for the Urban school children who come to see the animals. Kerr County 4-H will be heading to San Antonio Stock Show on Tuesday, February 11 th, 2014 to serve as school tour guides. This is a great opportunity for you to develop and practice the leadership skills that 4-H strives to develop in our youth. Tour guides are given the opportunity to educate school children about agriculture and its importance to our daily lives. You do not have to show animals to serve as a tour guide. You DO have to be academically eligible to be given an e-day from school. Center Point 4-H Club January 8th @ 7 p.m. @ the Center Point High School Cafeteria. We will be making Valentine s for the Veterans @ the VA Hospital. East Kerr 4-H Club We will be meeting Tuesday, January 14th, 6:30 p.m. @ Horse Club Bailey Teague will email you 1st week of January with the ride day date. Hunt 4-H Club We will meet Tuesday, January 14th, 6 p.m. @ Hunt School. Kerrville 4-H Club We will meet on Monday, January 13th @ 6:30 p.m. @ Have a blessed Christmas & a safe & Healthy New Year!! West Kerr 4-H Club We will meet January 8th @ 6 p.m. @ Ingram High School Café. See you there! We will leave by 6am on that Tuesday morning and arrive home around 4:00pm. Clothing & Textiles We will not meet this month, but will begin meeting again in February, on Sunday the 16th, 2-4 p.m. @ We aim to complete a project at each meeting. New members are always welcome! Consumer Decision Making Contest Consumer Decision Making gives youth the opportunity to make wise decisions when shopping. Consumer Decision making is a judging contest designed to teach kids to observe, compare, and make consumer based decisions based on facts. 4-Hers use their consumer knowledge to rank similarly based products to fit a given scenario. Kids learn to organize their thoughts and to defend their decisions in oral reasons. All those interested in the Consumer Education Contest need to attend the 1st meeting January 7th, 6 p.m. @ the Please call our office @ 257-6568 if you are planning to attend so we can have plenty of materials.
