Mercer Island s 28th Annual Community Festival invites you to participate- July 14 & 15, 2018! Crowds at the Crafters Street Fair We invite you to apply as a craft vendor to showcase your work at Mercer Island s 28th Annual Summer Celebration! This colorful street fair takes place at beautiful Mercerdale Park and the Town Center. Summer Celebration!, a Seafair community events program has activities and fun for people of all ages and abilities. With Mercer Island s easy accessibility via Interstate-90, the festival attracts attendees from all over Puget Sound. In addition to juried arts and crafts booths, Summer Celebration! will present live entertainment, music, a grand parade, food booths, classic car show, children s inflatable rides and hands-on art activities. All are designed to bring a maximum number of festival-goers past your booth! Summer Celebration! takes pride each year on recreating the ambiance of small town Americana. We provide outstanding hospitality all weekend long to our vendors such as nearby parking for your vehicle or camper, overnight security, and early morning coffee and treats. Applications and fees are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and there is limited electricity and corner booth availability. REFUND POLICY: 90% of fee is refunded if written request is received by May 18, 2018. 80% of fee is refunded if written request is received by June 11, 2018. No refunds given after June 11, 2018. All refunds are minus a $10.00 processing fee.
How do I become a juried Craft Vendor? Complete the crafter application form included in this packet and mail with the following to the address below. 1. Full payment 2. Color photos or CD s, representative of the work you wish to sell by May 18, 2018 for committee review. Slides are not accepted. 3. Each photo or CD you submit must be clearly labeled with your name, address and phone number. 4. A price range and description of your products must be included with your photos or CD s for screening. Lack of pricing will disqualify your entry for consideration. Spots with electricity are available, but limited. Call 206.275.7864 if you have additional questions. Conditions of Entry: 1. Quality of work is the highest priority. 2. Imports, commercial and/or commercially manufactured wares will not be accepted. All items must be created or handcrafted by the craft applicant. 3. The applicant (artist) must be present to sell their work. 4. No drug-related items will be sold. 5. No T-shirts, buttons, or posters with advertisements or slogans will be sold. 6. All work must be appropriate for family viewing. 7. Participants must adhere to festival opening and closing times despite any weather conditions. Vendors who close early will not be permitted to attend any future Summer Celebration! festivals. 8. Participants will not move to another location without official permission. 9. Only items previewed and accepted will be allowed for sale the days of the show. The Festival reserves the right to close any booth not adhering to these conditions. 10. Participants are responsible for construction, removal and cleanup of their own booths. 11. Booths must conform to the size restrictions on all sides and not infringe on walkways or neighboring booth spaces. 12. Sharing a booth is only permissible if both applicants have provided the appropriate information, dated and signed application, and have been juried and approved by the Festival Director. 13. Participants will cooperate with the Festival staff in any way necessary to provide a safe and enjoyable event for festival-goers as well as for fellow participants. 14. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are prohibited in booths.
Arts & Crafts Show Specifics: Booth Size- 10 x 10, vendor provides own tent/table/chairs. Booth Fees- $200, $250 for corner booth (limited # available). Summer Celebration s arts and crafts section is a street fair: booths are lined up next to each other on both sides of the street. A corner booth provides one side with no neighbor. Larger booths are available for an additional fee as space allows. Hours: 10:00am -7:00pm Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm Sunday Hospitality: The Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department provides breakfast snacks and coffee specifically for our vendors. As staff is available, a cart will come to your booth with these offerings. You can also visit the Parks and Recreation booth where these treats are always available. Booth Sitters: We offer booth sitters for vendor breaks. Just ask us, we are happy to help! Security: Overnight Security is on site during non-festival hours, Friday night to Saturday morning and Saturday night to Sunday morning. Accepted Crafters: All applications will be juried. All booths are awarded on a first come, first serve basis by payment. Payment does not guarantee acceptance. If, for any reason, your application does not meet the conditions of entry as listed above and/or is not accepted by the jury, a full refund will be made. An information packet with set-up information, map, festival schedule, and parking permit will be mailed in July to all accepted vendors.
