Health Science Library Health Sciences Library Changes You asked and we listened: students asked for more study space in the Health Sciences Library. The decision was made to move the journals to the RooBot on the Volker campus and remove most of the shelves where they were stored. We can now open the space for more study tables and create a real quiet area with a wall to block the conversation of the students in the Library involved in collaborative work. Changes include: Most of the shelves have been removed. All the print journals have been moved to the Volker campus, where access is still available through the Libraries document delivery service. Books will be moved to the north end of the Library. (The remaining shelves will be removed when the books have been moved to their final locations). New carpeting will be installed. A wall will be built creating a quiet area with more outlets and smart device charging capabilities. About twenty more tables will be provided. More than 75 chairs will be added. PubMed for Handhelds We hope all of the work will be completed by the beginning of the fall semester. White Coat Interested in finding vetted Full Text articles on your phone? Try PubMed for Handhelds! This FREE app searches the literature using keywords, clinical queries, consensus abstracts to connect to evidence based results, or using the clinical question via the PICO search. Even better, this app now features a connection to the UMKC libraries thousands of articles through the Full Text button now available through the app while you are on campus. So check it out, and ask a Librarian if you have questions. Guests must have a ticket in order to enter the ceremony. Those without tickets are welcome to watch the live-stream of the ceremony in Pierson Auditorium and then remain there for the reception immediately following.

Student Curriculum Ambassadors WELLNESS Niloofar s Wellness Tip The Five Minute Journal I ve got another app recommendation for you guys today! Unfortunately, it s not free, but it s worth every penny ($4.99 in the IPhone app store). It s called The Five Minute Journal and it s touted as a toothbrush for your mind. The app sends you a reminder in the morning to fill out your morning entry, which consists of 3 Things I m Grateful for Today, What Will I do to Make Today Great? (with space for 3 responses) and finally Daily affirmation with a space for you to type out your affirmation/focus for the day. In the evening you will receive another reminder to fill out your nightly entry, which consists of 3 Amazing Things That Happened Today and What I could have done to make today better. You can also add a photo to go along with each day and it s very easy to upload your entries to your computer. For those who don t have an IPhone (the app is currently only available for ios), you can also purchase a hard copy of The Five Minute Journal at https://www.intelligentchange.com/products/the-five-minute-journal The website also allows you to download a Quick Start PDF version of the journal. And of course, you don t need the app or the journal at all, to answer these same questions on a blank sheet of paper or in your Notes app on your phone each morning. I also encourage following the Instagram page for the 5 Minute Journal, which posts daily uplifting quotes: https://www.instagram.com/fiveminutejournal/. Enjoy! ~Niloofar
