Summer Nutrition Program Internship NEW! The NCHS Community Engagement Department seeks highly motivated individuals interested in nutrition and creating a positive difference within the community. The Summer Nutrition Program Intern will assist the implementation of NCHS Summer Nutrition Program by leading weekly event volunteers, data collection and entry, and disseminating nutrition information. The overall program goal is designed to engage NCHS pediatrics patients with nutritious lunches and information to promote healthier living. Community Community Food Distribution Internship Are you looking for a rewarding internship opportunity that involves helping end hunger in the San Marcos community? Join NCHS Community Food Distribution team! The NCHS Community Food Distribution Intern will assist in coordinating volunteers for monthly food distributions, collect pertinent data, and disseminate information to ensure successful food distributions for North County s underserved. Location (2 positions available): North County San Diego Inland (San Marcos) and North County San Diego Coastal (Oceanside) availability of volunteer, but must be available 2 nd Tuesday and Wednesday of each month, and quarterly volunteer meetings. Requirements: NCHS volunteer application, access to e-mail, and reliable transportation. Preferred Skills: Bilingual in Spanish, great attitude, and able to lift up to 25 lbs. Agricultural Health Internship NCHS Agricultural Health Intern will conduct health education to the North San Diego County agricultural community about prevention of chronic disease and health topics. Topics include: nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, and reproductive health. Interns will also assist in health screenings coordination in the agricultural community. The Clinic Customer Service Volunteer will create an interactive and caring environment for NCHS patients by enhancing support in the front of the clinic. NCHS Pharmacy Department seeks motivated, empathetic, and creative volunteers to assist in promoting health tips for our patients in the Pharmacy waiting room. Through this opportunity volunteers gain experience in encouraging health and wellness in the community. Time Commitment: 3 month minimum commitment, flexible schedule with an 8 minimum hour Preferred Skills: Bilingual in Spanish, have prior experience in health care or currently enrolled in an academic program with a focus on community/public health or health promotion. Licensing in Nursing or Certifications in Health Education preferred.

The volunteer will assist with important departmental administration projects as well as practice skills in organization, word processing, data entry, and more. Time Commitment: 3 month minimum commitment, flexible schedule with a 10-15 minimum hour Preferred Skills: Great attitude, organization skills, basic computer and Microsoft office knowledge. Graphic Design Internship NEW! NCHS Communications and Marketing Team is looking for a creative individual with an eye for design to join the team! The NCHS Graphic Design intern will gain valuable experience on a marketing team, design mentorship, and will be able to build and expand a professional portfolio. Time Commitment: Flexible to availability of volunteer, at least 2 half days a week. Preferred Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), Microsoft Publisher and Word on Windows Platform. Strong attention to detail with a good sense of design. Intern must be able to take direction and be creative.
