CALUMET IS BACK AUGUST 17 19, 2018 The Camp Chief, Warren Semmel, and his committee have started planning the 53rd Calumet International Camporee to be held on August 17 th to the 19 th, 2018. The camporee will be at the Elk Lick Scout Reserve in Smethport, Pa. The theme for this year is Down and Dirty. The camporee will once again honor a branch of our service men and women by saluting the Marines.

Purchase tickets when the unit is registered We offer units the opportunity to come to camp without going to the grocery store. The meal plan includes the following meals: Saturday Breakfast Lunch Dinner Snack Sunday Breakfast CAMP INFORMATION AND RESTRICTIONS Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on camp properties. All tobacco products are prohibited on camp properties. NO CB radios, walkie-talkies, or other radios are allowed in camp. Cell phone coverage is spotty at best at Elk Lick! Elk Lick has an abundance of down timber. DO NOT cut live trees or standing timber. State regulations prohibit the transportation of firewood to Elk Lick Scout Reserve. Firewood will be available for purchase. We require that all liquid fuels are stored in the Tribal Chief Camp Site. All refueling will be done at a designated area determined by the Tribal Chief. Units are prohibited from storing fuel in the troop site. All participants are expected to comply with BSA policy and standards of good taste. T-shirts should not have offensive printing. Bathing suits must be must be appropriate, for males (shorts, full coverage), females (one piece full coverage, no 2 piece suits) We welcome all Scouts and Scouters. If you are coming just to Trade, you must register with us in Orlos Lodge to meet policy. NO firearms are to be brought to Elk Lick Scout Reserve.
Program Theme Down and Dirty Get Dirty!! Patrol and Individual events Individual Games Iron Scout Triathlon Campfire Be Prepared This year we are honoring the Marines. Scouts should prepare for military-like events as though they are going through a Scout version of basic training Patrol and individual challenges and games will be scheduled for all of Saturday. This year s games will be geared towards getting dirty. BE PREPARED!! Individual events are skill-based. We are not going back to the basics, just back into the fun of Scouting at its best and being physically prepared. We are pleased to offer the Iron Scout Triathlon. This event is open to all Scouts and Scouters over 14 years of age. Awards are given in several divisions. As in all other Triathlon event, this is a fitness based event. HOORAH Elk Lick has a varied terrain, and Farmer s Valley, PA has a weather and climate pattern all its own. Please be certain that you dress for mud, wet and any other form of decoration that could ruin your uniform. Scout uniform is appropriate at welcome, at Opening, Closing and Services.

Friday night is special at our camporee. Honeywell Hall will be the site of the Annual Auction. In his travels the Camp Chief picks up some unique memorabilia for your bid. You don t need to be rich for this auction there are tickets, door prizes and lots of items for those new to collecting. The serious collector will also not want to miss it. Bring your spirit! Proceeds benefit Caumet and Elk Lick Scout Reserve Marv Peterson Dutch Oven Cooking Award This contest is open to all Calumet Scouts, Scouters, and Patrols. Prepare your best dish and bring it to Honeywell Hall. Judging is at 1:30 on Saturday. Trading Post Unit Spirit Award Overall Champion The Camp Trading Post will be stocked with all your wants and needs. Hours will be posted on the Trading Post porch. Camporee Scouts and Scouters always have a spirit that makes this event special. Calumet International Camporee is continuing this tradition by awarding the: CALUMET SPIRIT AWARD. We will award the Overall Champion to the unit which has the most participation and the best scores. GOOD LUCK
