April 2012 is Grange Month across Connecticut! Hello Grangers! April 2012 is Grange Month in Connecticut! April has been declared Grange Month by National Grange President Ed Luttrell, with the 2012 theme: American Values, Hometown Roots. Community Granges throughout Connecticut are encouraged to participate in the month-long celebration by opening their doors to the public for family-oriented events focused on the contributions of the Grange in their communities, such as open houses, lectures and programs, citizens awards, service projects, community displays, traditional pot-luck suppers and more. The Public Relations Committee has developed a packet containing everything you will need to make your Grange Month celebration a success. The information packet is attached to this e-mail as a PDF File. Because we want to ensure a timely delivery to each and every Grange across Connecticut, we are e-mailing Connecticut s packet of information to as many Granges and Grangers as possible, and ask that this information be shared within each of your Granges. Granges without e-mail addresses will be receiving their packets via Postal Mail. All of the items included in this packet, a list of Grange Month events throughout the State, as well as additional resources and goodies, are available for download on the Grange Month page of the Connecticut State Grange website - http://www.ctstategrange.org/grangemonth As part of the Grange Month celebration, the Connecticut State Grange is hosting a number of state-wide events: Join the conversation on Wednesday, April 11th, as the Connecticut State Grange will be hosting an online chat beginning at 7:00 PM. State Grange Officers and representatives will be there to answer all of your questions. Go to www.ctstategrange.org/grangechat and log on. Guests can sign-in using their real names or anonymously. In 1867 the National Grange became the first nationwide farm organization. It is the first national organization to give full voice and vote to women, 50 years before Congress adopted the same. The Grange s passionate, non-partisan style of grassroots vigor has since continued to ensure that the average citizen is fully represented in public policy dialogue. With nearly 60 Grange chapters in communities across Connecticut, the Grange has evolved into an organization concerned with the needs of all people - rural, suburban and urban - including economic development, education, family endeavors, and legislation designed to assure strong and viable communities across the state.
