Paluilis was the top finisher for the Crusaders at last weekend s New England Championship held on the campus of Northeastern. She finished the 5k race in a time of 18:55, good enough for 21st place in a field of 299 runners. The Crusaders finished in 10th place overall in an event that contained 44 teams. M-F ATHLETIC FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK ROSE CALVO, HOLY Fr., Rocky Hill, Conn. Calvo was the top freshman finisher for the Crusaders at last weekend s New England Championship. Her time of 19:41 in the 5k race placed her 72nd individually, in a field of 299 runners. As of 10.8.07, the following schools have been ranked: Army Men - No. 7 in the Northeast Region Navy Men- No. 6 in the Mid-Atlantic Region American Men - No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Bucknell Men - No. 10 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Lehigh Men - No. 13 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Navy Women - No. 9 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Bucknell Women - No. 10 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Lehigh Women - No. 15 in the Mid-Atlantic Region FINAL WEEKEND The upcoming weekend marks the final date of regular season competition for six of the seven Patriot League schools. Holy Cross will participate in the Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet on Oct. 20 to finish out the regular season slate for all teams. A GATHERING IN EASTON Five Patriot League schools will send runners to this weekend s Leopard Invitational, held at Lafayette College. The race could prove to be a warm-up for the Patriot League Championship meet, which will take place on the same course two weeks later. TEAM NOTEBOOKS PATRIOT AMERICAN The Eagles did not compete last week, and will return to action Saturday when they travel to the First State for the Delaware Invitational. The Eagles remained in the top 10 of the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings. ARMY The Black Knights had the week off from competition. Both the men and women will return to action on Friday, when they host arch-rival Navy in a dual meet to end the regular season for both teams. BUCKNELL The Bison men and women took a week off from competition last week. Both teams will lace em up again on Saturday morning, when they travel to Easton, Pa. to take part in the Leopard Invitational. COLGATE Colgate was idle last week. This Saturday they will send the men s team to compete in the Albany Invitational while the women will compete in the Leopard Invitational. Kyle Rougeot was the top male finisher for Holy Cross, finishing 59th of 291 runners. Caitlin Paluilis finished 21st for the women to help lead them to a 10th place finish overall. LAFAYETTE Like many other Patriot League teams, the Leopards did not compete last week. They will return to action on Saturday when they host the Leopard Invitational. LEHIGH Lehigh will compete at two different venues this weekend, after having the previous week off from competition. On Friday, the Mountain Hawks will send runners to the Penn State National Invite, while on Saturday they will make the short trek to Easton, Pa. for the Leopard Invitational. NAVY Navy will close out the regular season on the road when they travel to West Point, N.Y. on Friday for a dual meet with Army.
