OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION September 11, 2017 Clifton Martin Extension Educator Agriculture and Natural Resources Muskingum Extension Ag Dispatch 740-454-0144 225 Underwood St Zanesville, OH 43701 martin.2422@osu.edu Friends, A colleague recently quoted farm management advice he found in an old magazine from 1969: simplify, manage by exception, and concentrate on people instead of things. That is useful advice from the past we would all do well to remember today. Speaking of today, here a few items to be aware of in the upcoming weeks Farm Science Review tickets are available for sale at the Extension office. You can pick them up for $7 at our office or $10 at the gate. Dates for Farm Science Review are September 19, 20, and 21 with gates opening at 8:00 AM. Locally, Farm City Day will be September 16. This year the committee is taking the program to an on-farm location and it will be held at McDonald s Farm and Greenhouse from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The theme for the data is Pumpkins, Squash and Gourds, Oh My! Several activities are planned for children and it will be a wonderful family event. Beef School and Grazing Wrap-Up is an annual program at the Eastern Ag Research Station (Caldwell) and the dates for the program this year are Oct 3, 10, and 17. The program is held from 5:30 to 8:00 pm each evening. Topics including nutrition, handling facilities, calving, and forages will be covered in addition to others.
