Eastern Bank Philanthropy Mission To contribute, in meaningful ways, to the health and vitality of the communities served by Eastern Bank. Our focus is to support organizations which are providing critical services that strengthen individuals and families in our communities.
Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation History Established in 1985 Funded exclusively by Eastern Bank $88 million Endowment Level 10% of Net Income committed to charity $4.5+ million Annual Foundation Community Support $2.2+ million Annual Event Sponsorships
Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation Giving Philosophy To make more smaller grants, rather than a few larger grants. To make grants to locally-based organizations in our geography, where there will be significant impact, rather than to larger or national institutions where the donation will be less meaningful Reach out to organizations within our market footprint, supporting them with unsolicited gifts. To be deliberate in our efforts to distribute gifts throughout the geography of the communities we serve. Support organizations with missions in line with our preferred orientation for giving.
Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation Our Giving Priorities Our goal is to support the underserved and the neediest members of our community. We work to ensure that all our neighbors are treated with dignity and have equal access to: Affordable Housing Civil Liberties Community Healthcare Economic Revitalization Education Access Human Services Strong Families Environment & Sustainability Workforce Development Youth Services
