CITY OF NORCO An Equal Opportunity Employer EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES PART TIME OPENINGS RECREATION AIDE SUMMER BASKETBALL Assists in coaching related tasks and referee related duties. Provides assistance and information to the general public; performs a variety of general maintenance and custodial duties of recreational facilities; maintains safe work practices. Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds for the purpose of lifting and holding children and/or equipment; ability to deal with difficult customers. Prompt and regular attendance. $14.00/Hour Referee position performs officiating and score-keeping duties for basketball games. Position supervises gym facility during games and performs other miscellaneous duties as needed. Position requires evening and weekend hours. RECREATION AIDE COMMUNITY CENTER ATTENDANT Weekday Hours Range: 3pm-10 pm, Weekend Hours Range: 7:30am-10pm (Hours may vary) Maintains the facilities of the Community Center and Scout house to include but not limited to the following: Unlock/lock facilities and be on site and available for renters/contractors. Interface with renters, other staff and City management as needed. Monitor facility schedule. Monitor and upkeep restrooms and grounds by walking facility and perimeter. Restock supplies and assess facility cleanliness. Report facility deficiencies/conditions to appropriate staff. Sweep and mop hall floors and pressure wash walls. Pick up trash and clean/wash windows. Report graffiti and loiterers, contact police department as needed. Position requires working weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.

RECREATION AIDE SENIOR CENTER Under close to direct supervision, plans, organizes, publicizes, develops, and instructs special recreation, sports, cultural, or social service programs and activities at the Senior Center. Position may include assignments in Senior Cultural (classes, excursions, senior citizen programs and special events); or clerical. Responsible for organizing, conducting and supervising recreational, craft and musical activities for adults as well as special populations in both outdoor and indoor settings (i.e. table games, arts & crafts, music, etc.); performs the same for special tournaments, contests, social events and special holiday activities; teaches and instructs participants in all phases of these activities including rules and regulations, skills in performing the activity and ethics in sportsmanship; may administer first aid; assists in promoting recreational events to the community. Excellent customer service skills required with the ability to deal with difficult customers. Prompt and regular attendance. Able to work the second Saturday morning each month and to work other hours when required to meet needs of the facility. Performs other related duties as required. RECREATION LEADER SENIOR CENTER $11.50/Hour Under general supervision, plans, organizes, publicizes, develops, and instructs special recreation, sports, cultural, or social service programs and activities at the Senior Center. Position may include assignments in Senior Cultural (classes, excursions, senior citizen programs and special events); or clerical. Responsible for organizing, conducting and supervising recreational, craft and musical activities for adults in both outdoor and indoor settings as well as special populations (i.e. table games, arts & crafts, music, etc.); performs the same for special tournaments, contests, social events and special holiday activities; teaches and instructs participants in all phases of these activities including rules and regulations, skills in performing the activity and ethics in sportsmanship; may collect and record money received; maintains records and reports as required; may administer first aid; assists in promoting recreational events to the community; may assist in the administration of additional programs and activities; may conduct tours for interested individuals and organizations; Excellent customer service skills required with the ability to deal with difficult customers. (e.g. Senior Classes, Party Pardners, and Sports). Prompt and regular attendance.

RECREATION AIDE PARTY PARDNERS Under close to direct supervision assists with greeting, directing and engages with all participants. Deal courteously and effectively with the participants, caregivers and staff. Assist staff with setting up, and taking down event, including tables and chairs, decorations, supplies and materials. Distribute snack to participants in a quick and efficient manner. Assist staff with event check-in: including helping participants find badges, taking badge photos and collecting registration forms. Aid staff in monitoring all entrances, exits and emergency doors to ensure the safety of all participants. RECREATION SPECIALIST $15.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience Plan, coordinate and implement community special events. Perform duties to support the special events including but not limited to fundraising, budget, staffing, request of and management of volunteers at special events, marketing and advertising, facility needs and evaluations. Attend meetings and complete meeting minutes. KENNEL AIDE KENNEL AIDE ON-CALL Cleans and cares for impounded animals at the shelter such as clean cages and dog runs, replenish food and water supplies, and exercises animals. Provides basic animal health care to sick or injured animals; provides grooming services, such as bathing animals; updates medical histories. Provides information to the public on animal adoption, care, licensing and vaccination responsibilities.

MAINTENANCE WORKER GEORGE INGALLS EVENT CENTER $15.00 - $17.00 per hour depending on experience This position will perform a variety of skilled to unskilled manual tasks involving the maintenance, repair, cleaning and upkeep of the George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center. Will prepare the arenas for shows and festivals which require knowledge and use of mixture of arena footing composed of decomposed granite, clay and sand. This position will operate a John Deere Skip loader, Kabota tractor, fork lift, water truck, Kiser Dragmaster, Bobcat and additional implements. Will perform basic park and buildings maintenance tasks such as weed abatement, raking leaves, tree and shrub pruning, etc.; uses basic power driven tools and maintenance equipment including mowers, edger, weed trimmers, pruners, small riding equipment, power washer; cleans same tools and equipment; performs manual labor such as loading and unloading materials into trucks, setup and take down pipe panels and horse corrals, will open and close rest room facilities and other buildings; may maintain basic records of work performed and materials used; may assist in controlling traffic in the vicinity of work assignments.

2018 SUMMER KIDZ CAMP Temporary positions Camp Dates: June 4 August 10 Training: Week of May 29, 2018 Monday Friday, hours vary from 6:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (Part-Time - maximum 20 Hours Per Week) RECREATION AIDES Performs group/children activities in indoor and outdoor setting. Must be able to assist with the supervision of groups of children ages 5-12. Provides assistance and information to the general public; maintains safe work practices. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds for the purpose of lifting and holding children and/or equipment. & RECREATION LEADER II $12.00/Hour Responsible for organizing, conducting and supervising recreational, craft and musical activities for children in both outdoor and indoor settings; performs group/children activities in indoor and outdoor setting; teaches and instructs participants in all phases of these activities including rules and regulations, skills in performing the activity and ethics in sportsmanship. Must be a strong team player, be able to assist with the supervision of groups of children ages 5-12. Provides assistance and information to the general public; maintains safe work practices. Responsible for participant program registration; finalizing and attending field trips while maintaining the safety of all participants. Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds for the purpose of lifting and holding children and/or equipment.
