REGIONAL AGENCY FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATIONS - VARNA Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovations is a nongovernmental non-profit organization, carrying out its activities in public benefit, for stimulating regional economy, through the development of entrepreneurship and innovations.

RAPIV - MAIN ACTIVITIES 1.HIGH-TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR BUSINESS 2.CENTRE FOR INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER 3. ESTABLISHMENT OF A HIGH- TECHNOLOGY PARK

RAPIV REALISED PROJECTS During the 10 years period RAPIV realised: 25 big projects, of which 10 european, 11national (including the pre-accession funds) and 4 regional, in 10 of which RAPIV is a leadpartner. The average success rate of RAPIV in EU Projects for the period 2005 to 2011 as a Lead Partner is 58%. The attracted funds are 1 430 000 euro, as the indirect funds of the partnership are 8 507 000 евро.

REGIOCLIMA PROJECT REGIONAL COOPERATION TOWARDS ADAPTATION TO CLIMATE CHANGE The project is implemented under INTERREG IVC programme of EC, priority for environment. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To assist societies to adapt to the new climate conditions both by minimising the risk of damage and exploiting the new opportunities arising from a changing climate. DURATION: 36 months. Starts in January 2009 and ends December 2011. BUDGET: 1.999.970,00 PARTNERS: from Cyprus(Lead partner ANETEL), Italy, Spain, Estonia, Slovakia, France, Greece, bulgaria(rapiv)

REGIOCLIMA PROJECT SLOVAK BEST PRACTICE CHOSEN FOR TRANSFER TO BULGARIA GEOTHERMAL WATER USE IN THE CITY OF GALANTA Installed power (kw / mw) - 8 MW th (Geothermal power plant) Project cost: 2 760 000 Users of the generated heat: 1300 dwellings in residential buildings of 6-8 floors, public buildings, municipal hospital clinics, nursery and primary schools, old people's home, two shops. 2 Mineral water sources with a temperature of 78 C, flow rate 15.8 l / s, 18 l /s Social Impact: - Low cost of heated water and thermal energy - Secondary usage of the water for a warm basin with attractions.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To improve the territorial reach of regional innovation policies, through a better connection of peripheral areas with the regional innovation systems, in order to improve the diffusion of innovation and balanced economic and technological development throughout the EU territory. BLACK SEA TECH PARK VARNA IN THE STRATEGY FOR THE NEXT PLANNING PERIOD TRANSFER OF THE PRACTICE THROUGH ITS INCLUSION IN REGIONAL POLICY DOCUMENTS: Development of preliminary concept for establishment of Technology park in Varna as a result of the exchanged experience. The preliminary concept is included in the Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of Varna zone of high social importance. The plan will be the basis for the preparation of city development projects to be proposed for financing during the next funding period.

INSTITUTE OF APPLIED ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRANSFER TO VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship (IAE) (The Institute and its programmes for encouraging students entrepreneurship and promoting the culture of entrepreneurship are identified as most suitable for transfer in NER. RAPIV and Varna Free University have proved their interest in transferring the IAE experience into their activities) The design of new building of IAE at VFU

INNOMOT PROJECT IMPROVING REGIONAL POLICIES PROMOTING AND MOTIVATING NON-TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION IN SMEs The project is implemented under INTERREG IVC programme of EC, priority for Innovation and the knowledge economy. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: to build up expertise in the public administrations in order to improve the current practice regarding design, implementation and monitoring of Innovation motivation policies. DURATION: 36 months, starts in January 2012 and ends December 2014 BUDGET: 2.274.728,00 PARTNERS: from Sweden (Lead partner West Sweden), Belgium, Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, Denmark, Poland and Bulgaria (RAPIV)
