The Utes are led by senior Georgia Dabritz, who is currently ranked second in the nation on vault, first on bars, and fifth on the floor. UTAH will host Michigan on Friday in a battle of top five squads. Note on Pac-12 Championships: The 2015 Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships have been relocated from Arizona State University to the University of Utah. UCLA s Samantha Peszek was named the Gymnast of the Week, UTAH s Georgia Dabritz was voted Specialist of the Week, and UCLA s Christine Peng-Peng Lee was selected as the Freshman/Newcomer of the Week. UCLA redshirt senior Samantha Peszek earned gymnast of the week honors for the third time this season after her performance in No. 8 UCLA s road win over ARIZONA STATE on Feb. 28. Peszek tied for first place on the vault with a career-high-tying score of 9.95, marking her fourth vault title of the year and helping the Bruins earn their highest vault score of the season. Pezek also earned second place finishes on beam (9.925) and bars (9.9). Nationally, she is currently the ranked 13th on vault, 11th on bars, and fifth on beam. UTAH senior Georgia Dabritz earned Special Performance of the Week honors for the second week in a row for her performance in the No. 4 Utes victory at No. 15 OREGON STATE. Dabritz picked up her 20th win of the season after victories on bars (9.95) and floor (9.925) to help the Utes win in Corvallis for the first time since 2009. Dabritz is currently ranked second in the nation on vault, first on bars, and fifth on the floor. UCLA redshirt sophomore Christine Peng-Peng Lee, who missed competition the last two seasons due to injuries, earned Newcomer of the Week honors for the second week in a row this week. In the Bruins meet with Arizona State, Lee won the bars for the fifth time this season, scoring her second-consecutive 9.95 on the event as UCLA totaled its second-highest bars score of the year. Additionally, Lee tied for third on both the beam (9.85) and the vault (9.875), marking her career-best vault score. She now ranks fifth in the nation on the bars. WOMEN S GYMNASTICS ON PAC-12 NETWORKS Pac-12 gymnastics teams will see an unprecedented amount of television coverage this season. In the third year of Pac-12 Networks, 21 women s gymnastics meets will be televised on a national and regional basis. The Pac-12 Networks consists of one national and six regional networks devoted solely to the Pac-12. In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to Pac-12 Now, the TV Everywhere platform, which provides access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service. The Utes received 46 points with five first-place votes and were also voted sixth in the national preseason coaches poll. UCLA tallied 43 points, receiving the remaining three first-place votes, and was tabbed second. Additionally, the Bruins came in fifth in the national preseason coaches poll. Utah takes over the top spot in the preseason Pac-12 coaches poll from UCLA. The Bruins had dominated the top spot for the last three years. Both STANFORD and UCLA are coming off season-high team scores. This past week, STANFORD scored a 197.525 to beat #25 WASHINGTON and UCLA scored a 197.350 to defeat ARIZONA STATE. Pac-12 to face non-conference foes: This coming weekend, several Pac-12 squads will take on top-ranked non-conference opponents. #4 UTAH takes on #5 Michigan, #19 ARIZONA will face #23 Michigan State, ARIZONA STATE will travel to #21 Southern Utah, and #15 OREGON STATE will take on #7 Nebraska.
