Laurie-Walton Family Basketball Center
Project Highlights Celebrating nearly a century of University of Memphis basketball, the new Laurie-Walton Family Basketball Center showcases this rich history and positions University of Memphis student-athletes to be champions on and off the court. Working in harmony with the University, AECOM designed the facility to provide all of the athletic and academic elements required for total student-athlete development, making it the next generation of facilities. The center also serves as a vibrant athletics front door, welcoming the Tigers faithful in the Hall of Traditions, which features high-impact graphics, interactive media and living exhibits. Emphasizing the student in student-athlete, academic space streamlines student-athlete schedules as they balance time between life, study and practice. Student-athletes enjoy practice on two fullsized basketball courts, train with state-of-theart strength and conditioning equipment and rehabilitate with some of the most advanced hydrotherapy equipment available. Multiple large-scale television monitors strategically placed throughout the facility keep players aware of schedules, diet and workout regimens.
