If you have something you would like to share with others, please let us know. This month we celebrate with Yadkinville UMC on the completion of another great Summer Fun program. Volunteers from several area churches assisted. The program met each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at Yadkinville UMC. The program consisted of worship, reading, PE from the YMCA, music, crafts, and lots of food. The 60 kids enrolled in the program were provided take-home food each Thursday and a book each Tuesday. This program has received funds from our District Missional Engagement grant process.
August 2018 Volume 7, Issue 8 Page 4 Happenings Around the District and Conference First UMC, 210 Marion Street in Pilot Mountain, will have Vacation Bible School August 19-21, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Dinner will be served each night. The theme is Hero Central. JOY Singers, a choir for adult in the Yadkin Valley District of The United Methodist Church and the community, will begin rehearsals on Monday, August 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Tabor UMC, 3543 Robinhood Road in Winston-Salem. Practice will begin on a new musical with narration and two additional pieces to participate in the MLK Celebration in January 2019. Come to spread the JOY. You will be blessed. Mocks UMC, located at the corner of Mocks Church Road and Beauchamp Road in Advance, will host a breakfast on Saturday, September 8, 6:30 a.m. 10:00 a.m. Cost is $7.00, which includes pork tenderloin, country ham, eggs, grits, sausage gravy, biscuit, and beverage. The breakfast is held the second Saturday of each month, except for December and the summer months, and is sponsored by the Mocks United Methodist Men with proceeds benefitting their mission projects.
