From the President, As your MASN President, I would like to first thank you for taking interest in this wonderful association. Nursing students have a unique perspective and opportunity to make an impact in the field of nursing, and MASN is eager to be the catalyst for you to make your mark this year in our state. One of our goals this year is to encourage leadership in our state. We plan to do so by implementing a new endeavor: The Council of Student Leaders. It will involve the constituent school SNA leaders and will focus on becoming involved on the state and national level. Additionally, we are planning to include advantageous information regarding long term goals in nursing leadership and bettering your career as a nurse. We are also enthusiastic about our annual convention this year, as we anticipate it will be one of the most beneficial and informative conventions yet. Stay tuned to future pulse point issues for further information. Our Breakthrough to Nursing project this year is shaping up to be one of the most involved yet and will be a wonderful opportunity for each of us to share our passion for our field with others. We hope that it will not only be beneficial to those who we share with, but also each of you who participate, providing you with wonderful experiences in leadership within your community. Finally, I encourage you to stay current on all MASN functions, enabling you to be as involved as you can. We have an incredible opportunity to impact our state in a great way this year. Concurrently, I wish you success in all that you do this year. Sincerely, Forrest Pogue MASN President 6 MASN
