Program Summary Patients presenting with cardiovascular emergencies can be a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge as the symptoms can often be vague and non-specific. Quickly establishing an accurate diagnosis and implementing a treatment plan is of paramount importance to the survival of the patient. This conference will provide a comprehensive review of a variety of cardiovascular emergencies with which the practitioner may be presented. Some of the nation s leading authorities in specific areas of cardiovascular diseases will discuss the latest practice guidelines, state-of-the-art therapies and the most current clinical trial data. We hope that by the end of the conference, learners will be able to better recognize, diagnose and establish a treatment plan for these emergency conditions. The ultimate goal of this conference is to provide the practitioner the knowledge and tools necessary to improve the chances of survival and quality of life for those patients stricken with a cardiovascular emergency.
