INFORMATION AND OVERVIEW Plano Youth Leadership (PYL) is designed for 10 th grade students (who will be in 10 th grade in the Fall of 2018) who want to learn to be effective leaders. If you think you have leadership potential, or you have a desire to learn more about leadership and opportunities in your community, then Plano Youth Leadership is for you. You don t have to be the president of your class or a team captain or ranked high in your class to participate. You do need to be passionate about learning about leadership and be willing to give the time required. The purpose of Plano Youth Leadership is to train students in leadership techniques and community awareness so that they may become familiar with current issues, community resources, opportunities, and other factors influencing the direction of Plano s future. Participation in the program will require your time and energy. You will be expected to attend all the monthly sessions. We appreciate your interest in PYL. Before completing the attached application form, you are strongly encouraged to review all the information carefully, including all attendance requirements. If you are selected to participate, you will be required to attend the mandatory Teamwork Challenge session in early September and the Orientation & Role of Personality in Leadership session in mid October.
