Sampling and calibration equipment Airborne asbestos sampling strategies Microscope calibration and adjustment Sample preparation and fiber counting Quality control practices and procedures Calculations and statistical evaluation of results VIRGINIA PROJECT MONITOR COURSE ($375) This course provides 16 hours of training for persons conducting visual inspections and final clearance sampling on asbestos abatement projects in the state of Virginia. Successful completion of an approved Supervisor or Project Designer Course is a prerequisite. Role of the Project Monitor Project specifications Air monitoring methods Quality control practices and procedures Conducting visual inspections Analytical options/interpretation of results ASBESTOS ABATEMENT WORKER COURSE ($500) This 32-hour training course is required for workers involved in the abatement of asbestos-containing building materials. It includes extensive use of practical scenarios and hands-on exercises. Background information on asbestos Health hazards Isolation of contaminated areas Asbestos abatement techniques Work site safety Personal protective equipment ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SUPERVISOR COURSE ($650) This 40-hour initial training course is designed for on-site supervisors of asbestos abatement operations. ASBESTOS BUILDING INSPECTOR COURSE ($475) This 24-hour course emphasizes the proper methods to identify, sample and document the presence of asbestos-containing building materials. Background asbestos information Public relations Inspection procedures Bulk sampling strategies Physical assessment techniques Recordkeeping and report writing ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLANNER COURSE ($375) This 16-hour training course emphasizes the assessment of potential asbestos exposure, appropriate response actions and the preparation and implementation of the plan to manage the asbestos-containing building materials. Successful completion of an Asbestos Building Inspector Course is a prerequisite. Hazard assessment and response action prioritization Selection of control options Development of an O&M plan Financing abatement actions $ 100 DISCOUNT FOR INITIAL INSPECTOR + MANAGEMENT PLANNER IN SAME WEEK $750 FOR BOTH ASBESTOS PROJECT DESIGNER COURSE ($475) This 24-hour course is required for all individuals who will design any asbestos abatement projects or write asbestos abatement plans. Classroom presentations and realistic case study scenarios provide participants with a solid foundation for developing responsible and efficient asbestos abatement project designs, specifications and work plans. This course is required for any design or abatement plan over three (3) square feet or three (3) linear feet. This course meets the AHERA, ASHARA and TSCA Title II Accreditation for project designers. An ATC certificate is provided for each student upon successful completion of the course. OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE WORKER COURSE ($375) This 16-hour course is designed for building service and maintenance personnel who are likely to come into contact with asbestos-containing materials during routine maintenance activities. Background information on asbestos Safe work practices and health hazards Personal protective equipment Asbestos control techniques Small scale cleanup and removal BUILDING INSPECTOR REVIEW COURSE ($160) This 4-hour review course is designed to meet the requirements for the recertification of Asbestos Building Inspectors. HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATIONS TRAINING FOR MANAGERS AND SUPERVISORS ($200) This 8-hour course is for supervisory personnel who are directly responsible for employees engaged in hazardous waste operations. The supervisor's role Hazard recognition Accident investigation and site safety plans OSHA inspections Case studies CONFINED SPACE ENTRY ($250) This 8-hour course is designed to meet the training requirements of OSHA's Permit-Required Confined Spaces for General Industry regulation (29 CFR 1910.146) for persons who enter, attend or authorize entry into confined spaces.
