Dear Parishioners, This weekend we celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus. This is a good time for us to affirm our belief that Jesus is truly present at Mass under the form of bread and wine. When we go to Mass and receive Communion, we have Jesus coming into our lives. This is difficult to comprehend. In fact, this is probably why many people neglect coming to church. Do we think that if people truly believe that they were receiving Jesus that they would abstain themselves from coming to Mass? What a gift that Jesus wants such an intimacy with us who are a weak and sinful people. The Lord comes to be our food, to strengthen us on our journey to the kingdom of heaven. As the Father fed the Hebrew people on their journey from slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land, so Jesus comes to feed us. Let us also remind ourselves that it is God s command to us for He says, Take and eat, take and drink. He said that unless we eat His flesh and drink His blood, we have no life in us. How does the Lord feel being rejected by so many of so great a gift? How does one rationalize being absent if we know that it is Jesus Himself who is present desiring to live within us. We need to affirm our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. We are also so blessed that Jesus is present in every tabernacle in the Catholic Church. Because of this, we can all spend time in His Eucharistic presence. Can you imagine that I can go to Church and know that I am in the presence of Jesus. We are able to have Eucharistic Adoration here in our chapel daily from 10:00 a.m. to midnight (except Wednesday when Exposition ends at 6:00 p.m. but the chapel remains open.) Jesus is present to us and it is good for us to offer Him hospitality. Let this feast enable us to make the commitment to attend Mass every week and to make time during the week to come and relax in His presence. Let us thank Jesus for such a great gift that we have received from the Lord. As a reminder, we will begin a three week DVD presentation on the Eucharist this Tuesday, June 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the hall. The program, Presence, explores the radical mystery of God s love expressed in the Eucharist. It shows how, in this sacrament, Jesus is here with us under the CALEB'S CORNER appearance of bread and wine to help and strengthen us at every step of life s journey. Presence invites each one of us into a deeper, more intimate union with God. I have done my best. That is about all the philosophy of living a dog needs. ~ The Book of Dog The last of three group pictures of our First Communion students can be found on page 3 of the bulletin. As a reminder, we will have our monthly Healing Mass this Wednesday, June 6, starting at 7:00 p.m. with the rosary. I will be available for confession this week on Tuesday, June 5, from 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. May Jesus continue to shepherd you in all of your needs. God love you, 2

As he approached the Pearly Gates, he noticed an orchestra playing and thousands of angels cheering. St. Peter himself rushed over to shake the lawyer s hand. This is quite a reception, marveled the new arrival. You re very special, St. Peter explained. We ve never had anyone live to be 130 before. The attorney was puzzled. But I am only 65. St. Peter thought for a moment. Oh, he said, we must have added up your billing hours. ~Reader s Digest Scripture for the week of June 3, 2018 3 SUN Ex 24:3-8/Heb 9:11-15/Mk 14:12-16, 22-26 4 Mon 2 Pt 1:2-7/Mk 12:1-12 5 Tue 2 Pt 3:12-15a, 17-18/Mk 12:13-17 6 Wed 2 Tim 1:1-3, 6-12/Mk 12:18-27 7 Thu 2 Tim 2:8-15/Mk 12:28-34 8 Fri Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c-9/Eph 3:8-12, 14-19/Jn 19:31-37 9 Sat 2 Tm 4:1-8/Lk 2:41-51 10 SUN Gn 3:9-15/2 Cor 4:13 5:1/Mk 3:20-35 6
