Local Scholarship Listing for the VHS Senior Class of 2016 Applications must be returned to Ms. Ann Fresoli by February 1, 2016 at 3:00 pm LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Instructions for Applying Step 1: Review Sections A, B. and C. Check ( ) all scholarships you would like to apply for. Be sure to read the requirements of each scholarship carefully. Step 2: Complete the Local Scholarship Application - blue or black pen **Please note: financial need is based on the income information you provide on the Local Scholarship Application and supplemental information you provide. If you choose not to supply this information you will be disqualified from all scholarships based on financial need. Step 3: Complete a Cover Sheet for each scholarship checked in Section A and B. For section C cover sheets are needed only for 1C, 2C,3C, 13C, 14C, and 20C. Step 4: For EACH Section A Scholarship: Attach each designated Cover Sheet to a copy of the Local Scholarship Application and activities sheet if needed. Step 5: For EACH Section B Scholarship: Attach each designated Cover Sheet to a copy of the Local Scholarship Application. Add the supplemental material requested by the individual scholarship (i.e. copy of FAFSA, essay, reference letter). Step 6: For EACH Section C Scholarship: Attach Cover Sheet to supplemental application and return only those that Ms. Fresoli processes (1C, 2C,3C, 13C,14C and 20C). Others are mailed by the student directly to the sponsor. Follow directions for each scholarship. Step 7: Complete a Local Scholarship Transcript Request form indicating each scholarship specifically requesting a transcript. Please pick up any transcripts needed for applications that you mail yourself from Mrs. Turkus in guidance. Please keep form separate from any applications and turn in with all of the above. Step 8: MAKE A DUPLICATE OF THE CHECKLIST (FOR YOURSELF), LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION, ACTIVITIES SHEET, AND ANY ESSAYS TO BE KEPT ON FILE. Please Note: Some scholarships will indicate academics as a qualifier and will use the GPA rather than a transcript. Important! Follow all instructions carefully.

(LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED) Each year Voorhees High School seniors are fortunate to receive a number of local scholarships through the generosity of various local clubs and organizations. Criteria vary but usually include some reference to financial status, academic performance, activities and/or major. Interpretation of these criteria is relative and depends entirely upon who is making the decision. Please use a BLACK OR BLUE PEN and print heavy on the APPLICATION. NOTE: Keep a copy of this LIST so you know what scholarships you have applied for. If you change your mind, please leave a note in Ms. Fresoli s mailbox. Some scholarships are not decided until May. Students are responsible for gathering required recommendations. You can usually use a recommendation that was written for a college application. Students should arrange to obtain necessary transcripts with Guidance.
