GUIDELINES 1. Applicant should meet the following minimum requirements. (a) (b) (c) Completion of high school education (diploma or GED). A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or 80% or above on a l00% scale. Applied, accepted, or currently attending an accredited university, college, junior college, community college, or technical/vocational school for the purposes of pursuing an administrative office professional career. 2. Applicant must submit the following: (a) (b) (c) (d) Copy of high school or college transcript or equivalent. Copy of letter of acceptance from the school the applicant will be attending or if currently enrolled, the most recent transcript from the school. Typed and double-spaced 300-500 word essay (see note below) Two letters of recommendation. 3. Applicant must make every effort to participate in an interview by members of the IAAP Ohio Division Past Presidents Scholarship Committee. The interviews will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012, (location to be determined). Appointment times will be set up for each candidate. 4. Applicant must complete the scholarship application. *NOTE: current IAAP members are not eligible to apply. 5. The recipient of this scholarship will be asked to make every effort to attend the Ohio Division IAAP Annual Meeting Saturday Luncheon at the Cincinnati Regency, 151 West Fifth Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, to be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2012. There will be up to two $1,500 scholarships awarded as well as up to two one-year memberships to the Ohio Division chapter of the recipient s choice. NOTE: The essay is an important means by which to judge your communication skills. The essay should identify your goals, motivation for setting these goals, how you anticipate attaining your goals, where you would like to be in five years, reasons for selecting the administrative office professional career, need for financial assistance, etc.
