Harilela Scholarship 2018-19 Important: please read these guidance notes very carefully before completing the form. The Harilela Scholarships have been established by Aron Harilela, a generous donor and friend of King s College London. The Harilela Scholarships aim to support Hong Kong residents planning to study for a three year undergraduate programme in the School of Management and Business. The Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and academic excellence. In the academic year 2018-19, two scholarships will be available. The value of each award is 45,000 ( 15,000 per year, for three years) to support tuition fees. The winner will be selected on the basis of a personal statement. Applicants must have firmly accepted a confirmed place to study at King s College London in September 2018. What does the scholarship offer? The scholarship is intended to help support the winner with the cost of tuition fees for three years. Two scholarships will be offered for students undertaking one of the following courses: BSc Business Management BSc Economics and Management BSc International Management Am I eligible to apply? Applications are invited from students who are either Home status, or who are ordinarily resident in Hong Kong, and who are: undertaking an eligible undergraduate full-time programme at King's, 2018 entry; have firmly accepted an offer of a place in study from September 2018; have provided written personal statements; willing to provide an end of year report and a letter of thanks to the donor. How do I complete the application form? The application form and both supporting statements should be scanned and emailed to funding@kcl.ac.uk. You must submit a word/pdf version of your personal statement. This should be emailed to funding@kcl.ac.uk. The deadline for applications is 15 May 2018 1
When will I know the outcome of my application? Provided your application form has been accurately completed and the appropriate documentary evidence supplied, you will be notified of the decision by the end of June 2018. Applicants who have not heard by this time should assume that they have not been selected for the scholarship.
