Bring the EMD to your country To celebrate the vital role of Seas and Oceans for human life as well as for the economy For citizens, and notably the young generation, students and children Examples: workshops, maritime projects and activities, open door days at ports, harbours, environmental actions, university or school projects, museums and aquaria etc A call will be published on the EMD website in October 2017 We will select 3 Ambassadors at the EMD conference and show your photos. We provide promotional items.

EMD 2017 Evaluation Networking opportunities: most important aspect of the conference Stakeholder workshops/discussions: more interactive sessions engaging the audience Structured reporting of workshops: but not in form of a reporting back session Exhibition: average time spent at stands is 10-30 min. Issues to improve with regard to organisation of stands Events in Europe: only 1/3 of participants are aware of these, but real interest to develop these and publicize them

Role of Workshops Coordinators Coordinators design an interactive workshop, define its objective(s), identify speakers and send an application to Commission by end of November (registration on EMD web site) Selected Coordinators fully organise their workshop: Title, objectives, moderator, speakers After the conference Coordinators provide a structured reporting of the conclusions
