HARTELL-, CEC, USN, as Commanding Officer of U. S. Naval Mobile Construction Battali on ELEVEN at 1000, 28 July 1969 on board Camp H.aines. Bridge B-1-lSA (YD610312), a 240 ' c l ass 60 timber bridge, destroyed by fire. At 0130 Detail Nancy personnel at LZ Nancy voluntarily assisted in extinguishing an ammunition fire. CMl. TOGNAZZN was killed and three other NMC B ELEVEN personnel were wounded in an ammunition explosion resulting from the fire. NMCB ELEVEN Commanding Officer, Operations Officer, Battalion Master Chief and Color Guard participated in change of command ceremonies at THRTY-SECOND Naval Construction Regimen t. NMCB ELEVEN with assistance from NMCB ONE completed recon struction of Bridge B-1-lSA. 0410-0630, Camp.Haines in Condition Red.
