Detailed characteristics and description of Force Recon Razor team 1stSgt Patrick Miles Razor team leader First Sergeant (E-8) Date of Birth: April 12th 1974 The son of a Californian politician and lawyer, it is notable that MSgt Miles chose enlistment rather than seeking a commission (although he has completed OCS). Gained excellent grades in the Ranger Course and later in Recon School. Successful tours in Iraq as a Recon squad commander, followed by a tour in A-stan (already with Force Recon), earned him a place in the 5th Force Recon Btn. He became Razor s team leader in 2008. Completed training modules include: SOI, TBS, SMTC, MCMAP, OCS, BRC, SERE Brilliant leadership and expertise in special warfare, language skills. Pat is an outstanding leader inspiring great loyalty in his team. There s not a marine in the Corps I d rather have to my right.
MSgt Matt Cooper Razor scout/grenadier Master Sergeant (E-8) Date of Birth: December 9th 1976 A native New Yorker, Sergeant Cooper dropped out of college to pursue a career in the Corps. He has a particularly robust and unflappable personality as indicated by the outstandingly high scores seen in his mental health evaluation (Recon School report, 2006). Sergeant Cooper is a charismatic and well-liked Marine. Calm, friendly, a highly motivating NCO. Completed training modules include: SOI, TBS, SMTC, BRC, SERE Reconnaissance expert, proficiency in Slavic languages. Cooper is quick to befriend new recruits and is well-liked among his peers. Should MSgt Miles seek a commission I would have no hesitation in recommending Sergeant Cooper for Team Leader.
SSgt Randy Sykes Razor marksman Staff Sergeant (E-6) Texan born Randy Sykes has a number of blackside ops to his name and is famous among his fellows for remaining Ice Cold in a crisis. A natural marksman, Sgt Sykes is Razor Team s designated Scout/Sniper. The truth behind his reported 2300m light.50 confirmed kill, often cited among new 27th MEU recruits, remains classified. Completed training modules include: SOI, TBS, SMTC, BRC, SERE, SST, MCMAP Exceptionally good shooting and camouflaging abilities, expertise in deep reconnaissance. Randy is a hard man to get to know. I think it s fair to say he keeps his distance in the company but despite that he s become something of a talisman to be honest. It s something I ve tried to discourage.
SSgt Brian O Hara Razor corpsman Staff Sergeant (E-6) San Franciscan-born O Hara followed a number of his brothers into the Navy. Trained as Medic before transferring to the Marine Corps as a field corpsman and finally joined Force Recon in 2007. Currently Razor Team s medic. Despite the usual Navy Pukes jibes (typical of this common interforce transfer), Brian is fitting in well as Razor Team s newest and youngest member. Low aggression levels and a tendency toward caution belie his roots however. Completed training modules include: SOI, TBS, SMTC, BRC, SERE, SST, MCMAP, HM(Navy) Medical expertise including traumatölogy and basics of military surgery, training in special warfare. Brian s a top class Marine, I think he s fitting right in. The rest of the team are still giving him a hard time but that s natural. If only cause of his damn hair. I expect to see him promoted to a medical SNCO rank after this tour.
Sgt Chad Rodriguez Razor heavy gunner Sergeant (E-5) Life and career Orphaned at a young age, Rodriguez is the classic example of the Corps straightening out a delinquent youth. Managed to stay on the right side of the law despite patchy high school attendance. Regarded as a high maintenance Marine by his peers Rodriguez has a reputation for carelessness. Battle-hardened by tours in Iraq and A-stan, the Sergeant has earned real respect as a fighter in the 27th MEU corpus. Completed training modules include: SOI, TBS, SMTC, BRC, SERE, SST, MCMAP Special skills Remarkable shooting proficiency, physical constitution and deep knowledge of various weapons platforms. It s hard not to like Rodriguez but Lord knows that Marine can be a pain in the ass. Despite prodigious combat skills I think his chances of promotion are limited at this time.
