Nenatal Simulation Programme & WONEP Network Study Days Princess Anne Hospital 2017
MPROvE NEONATAL SIMULATION PROGRAMME Dear Trainees, We would like to welcome you to the NNU at Princess Anne Hospital. We hope to provide you with a variety of educational opportunities during your stay with us over the next 6 months to 1 year. A list below highlights the neonatal simulation programme for the coming 12 months. The 4 th Tuesday is dedicated to ST 1-5 teaching in the morning and multidisciplinary simulation run as half or full days. Attendance for the ST1-5 s is mandatory unless you are on nights or rostered to work on the neonatal unit. This is part of your study leave. Any MTI s & ST6-8 s who are off are also welcome. The programme covers topics related to the neonatal airway, access, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, neurology and miscellaneous topics. In total there will be 6 modules which will include lectures and simulation. Simulation is multidisciplinary and has been curriculum integrated to both the ST1-3 and BAPM nursing curriculum. An additional session on chest drains is run for ST1-5 trainees. You will need to attend this in your own time. In addition there are 4 Wessex-Oxford neonatal Education which cater to topics for the neonatal grid trainees and MTI neonatal fellows. The dates and themes are as below on page 3. For the MTI candidates there are 2 additional workshops on communication skills and simulation training which are run at the RCPCH conference in May on the 24 th and September at a date to be confirmed.. This is free for MTI s.
