Austin Catholic High School January 13th February 2017 Happy Friday Crusaders, I cannot believe it is already February 10th. Where has the time gone? As we prepare for the Easter season, the awards season, spring sports, graduation, and the conclusion to our inaugural year in our new home, I can t seem to stop smiling about how Blessed we are here at Austin. As I watched the students during the lock-in last Saturday, I was overwhelmed with pride in how they treated one another and the parents and teachers there to chaperone. It was a great night a much needed unity builder. Thank you again to all of our staff and parents who either donated items last week, gave of their time to help with lunches and events, and of course those who stayed during those wee hours of the morning during the lock-in. And of course a big thank you to our Student Government and Advisor Mr. Vechinski for planning CSW activities. With mid-winter break fast approaching I encourage the juniors and sophomores to use this time for college campus visits and research. Being on campus while classes are in session is always a bonus and this time of year will give perspective students a much needed glimpse at life on campus. We are continuing to plan for the Together We Can Capital Campaign that will be officially kicking off very soon. Students and staff are deep in competition with the total raised in the Can Drive at $255.70. Keep saving those returnables. Bins are emptied every two weeks and students, along with parent volunteers turn in as service. Also enclosed in this email is Registration information for 2017-2018. We are excited to be transitioning to a new Parent/ Student information system called RenWeb which is a subsidiary of FACTS. This change will allow parents and staff the ease to switch between functions and screens using one single log-in. It will be a one stop shop. Registration this year will be the last year for paper and check and all information will be updated via the portal for reenrollment. Yours in Christ, Mrs. Coppens Austin Catholic High School 25925 23 Mile Road Chesterfield, MI 48051 (586) 200-0143 UPCOMING: 2/13 Parent Association Meeting 2/17 All School Service Day 2/20 & 2/21 Mid Winter Break 3/1 Ash Wednesday (7:20am service) 3/9 & 3/10 No Classes Staff PD & Parent Conferences 3/9 Conferences 5:00pm-8:00pm 3/10 Conferences 8:00am 11:00am 3/13 Spring Sports 1st Day of Practices 3/27 National College Fair 4/1 4/9 Spring Break 4/10 & 4/11 SAT, PSAT 9 & 10 Testing As always please check our school calendar for up-to-date events, dress code schedule, sports events, etc.

ATHLETICS Austin continues to improve in basketball and bowling, with the bowling team winning their second match last week. Spring Sports are also beginning to plan and organize. It is an exciting time for Crusader Athletics!! Don t forget the athletic department is also selling season and yearly athletic passes that will help families save money on admission to games.
