MR. & MRS. JOHN J. BOASEN SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established by Mrs. John J. Boasen in memory of her husband

EDITH GUNLICKS MEMORIAL STUDENT SUPPORT FUND Scholarship is given in Memory of Edith Gunlicks who served as a Professor of Business at Kearney State College (now UNK) from 1958 to 1973. Mother was quite the role model, said Karen Gunlicks Ridout. She was a trail blazer ahead of her time a woman raising three children while completing a degree. We want to help others get that start and to complete a degree.

BRIAN AND CAREY HAMILTON SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship to support a College of Business and Technology Student with a GPA of 3.0 or above

LANDSTROM/TAYLOR ENDOWED BUSINESS FUND Scholarship given in honor of Ron Landstrom, a faculty member in the College of Business and Technology from 1958 1997. MR AND MRS FOSTER O QUINN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship was initially funded in the 1980s for students majoring in traditional areas of the Social Sciences, History, Economics/Business Administration and related subjects, in memory of the late Georgia parents of Dr. Ann O Quinn Young, KSC/UNK Professor of History. Subsequently, additional funding was provided by Robert Wm. Young, KSC/UNK Associate Professor of Business Administration, in memory of his late Iowa parents. Recipients of this award are those who pursue academic majors and careers in disciplines important to and valued by the donors parents.

JOANN AND EARL RADEMACHER SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established for students majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Elementary Education Mr. & Mrs. Rademacher established the scholarship fund to help students with their education.

Dale & Ellen Schroeder established this scholarship fund to show their support of UNK. Scholarships are awarded to students from Nebraska studying Criminal Justice, Political Science, or any major within the College of Business and Technology. DALE L AND ELLEN J SCHROEDER SCHOLARSHIP

PATRICIA RHOADES BACONRIND SCHOLARSHIP Given to two (2) regularly enrolled students, annually or otherwise, in the College of Business and Technology at UNK. One shall be given to a candidate majoring in Business Education, and is a member of Phi Beta Lambda, and the other given to any major under the B&T heading.

JOHN C. MARIENAU ECONOMIC ESSAY CONTEST Essay Contest for any full or part-time graduate or undergraduate student at UNK during the 2011-2012 academic year. Topic: Should the U.S. Constitution be Amended to Require a Balanced Federal Budget?

ROBERT S. & JANE AYRES SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship funds to benefit students (sophomore and above) majoring in business.

J. A. & FERN BALDWIN SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given to benefit Junior or Senior students with a GPA of 3.0 or above majoring in Business Administration or Economics. Selection is based upon financial need.

THEODORE G. BALDWIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is given in memory of Theodore G. Baldwin by Ellen Baldwin to benefit graduates of Kearney High School majoring in Business. Mr. Baldwin believed a college education was essential for being a productive citizen.

BETA GAMMA SIGMA SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given to a current Beta Gamma Sigma member. Beta Gamma Sigma is the Business Honorary for AACSB Accredited Business Programs. A scholarship is awarded to programs earning Premiere Chapter status.

Scholarship given by Kelley and Ross Taylor in honor of his Grandparents Vivian and Lloyd Carter. The Carter s valued education. Lloyd passed away in 1999. Vivian is hopeful that this scholarship will in some small help a hard working student have opportunities that were rare for her generation. Vivian & Lloyd Carter MIS Scholarship

RON COPE AGRI-BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship fund established by Carol Cope in memory of her husband Ron Cope to be awarded to students studying Agri-Business.

Scholarship given in memory of Marcus DeCamp by his parents. Marcus was a senior at UNK Majoring in Finance and Marketing when he passed away in 2002. While a student at UNK, he was active in the American Marketing Association and the Finance Club. MARCUS DECAMP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

WALTER F. DEYLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established in memory of Walter F. Deyle by friends, family and associates to benefit students who are seniors majoring in business Administration.

ALICE ELMORE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given in memory of Alice Elmore who retired from UNK after more than 2 decades of service to UNK. Scholarships benefit students studying Business Education.

THE ENDER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by Mrs. Arnold Ender in memory of her husband to a student majoring in Business Administration and have achieved Junior or Senior status with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

DAVID V. GARWOOD SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given in memory of David Garwood who was a long time faculty member in the College of Business and Technology. The scholarship is for students studying business who exhibit financial need and have demonstrated past academic achievement.

LARRY D. & JEFFE D. HALL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by Larry and Jeffe Hall to help support students at UNK majoring in Business.

Scholarship given in memory of Shirley Houston, a long-time faculty member who taught Business Education at UNK. SHIRLEY HOUSTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Ethel Kelly MIS Scholarship Scholarship given by Kelley and Ross Taylor in honor of Kelley s Grandmother Ethel Williams Holder Kelly. Mrs. Kelly, born in 1899, valued education. She earned a business degree and teaching certificate. While working, she pursued and received her Master s degree.

GENE KOEPKE SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given in honor of Dr. Gene Koepke retired faculty member and administrator of UNK (KSC) and the College of Business and Technology. Scholarship will benefit students majoring in Marketing/Management and are graduates from a Nebraska High School. Students need to demonstrate scholastic ability and academic promise.

WAYNE R. & VIRGINIA E. L. McKINNEY FAMILY SCHOLRSHIP Scholarship given by Wayne and Virginia McKinney to benefit students at UNK. One to a student studying Business and one to an athlete of any field of study.

NEBRASKA BANKERS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshman who are pursuing a major in one of the following programs in the College of Business: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Agribusiness, Management Information Systems or Marketing. Scholarship is renewable.

CLARA OCKINGA BUSINESS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established by Clara Ockinga, a member of the Business Department faculty for over 31 years, this scholarship will be awarded to a second semester sophomore or junior majoring in Business Education. The recipient must have at least a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selection is based upon scholarship, financial need, and a good moral character.

PAYNE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established by the Payne family. The scholarship is awarded to students studying Business Administration who have earned a GPA of at least 2.5 and exhibit past academic achievement and potential for future academic and professional accomplishments.

PHI BETA LAMBDA SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is awarded to a member of Phi Beta Lambda with fifteen hours inclusive of business or related courses. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

THE PLATTE VALLEY STATE BANK & TRUST COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is established by Platte Valley State Bank and Trust Company to help support UNK students in the College of Business. Recipients must be a high school graduate of Buffalo County or an adjacent county and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or above.

LORI PRAUNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established in memory of Lori Prauner by her parents Brad and Patty Prauner. While at UNK Lori was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Her life and career were ended early when she was killed by a drunk driver in June of 1993. Her family established this scholarship to help other students fulfill their dreams and careers. Scholarship is awards to students studying Economics, Management or Marketing.

UNK STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND Scholarship fund supported by the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

JOHN AND MARY SCHLIEGER SCHOLARSHIP Renewable scholarship established to assist students attending UNK.

Scholarship established in honor of Glen Schmitz by his parents Ray and Ruth Schmitz. Glen was a 1992 Business Education graduate who passed away in 1998. Prior to retirement from UNK, Dr. Ray Schmitz was a Professor of Accounting for 28.5 years and Mrs. Ruth Schmitz taught Management Information Systems 32 years. Three scholarships are awarded annually in the areas of Accounting, Business Education and MIS. SCHMITZ FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP Continuing student candidates for this scholarship must have a GPA of 2.75 or above. Recipient must be majoring in Supply Chain Management and have submitted an essay on their intent to major in Supply Chain Management. This scholarship may also be awarded to incoming freshmen provided they major in Supply Chain Management and meet ACT and class standing requirements.

R.B. WELCH FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established in memory of Roland Stretch Welch who began his teaching career at Kearney State Teachers College in 1939 and was a member of the original Kearney State College business faculty. Scholarship is awarded to students in the College of Business & Technology studying Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance. Preference should be given to students with a part-time job.

ABC SUPPLY CO. INC. INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established to provide assistance to students studying Industrial Distribution. Recipients must have achieved sophomore or above with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to students involved in the Industrial Distribution Organization at UNK.

ANITA NICKMAN/WEST CENTRAL NEBRASKA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to: Full-time student Majoring in Construction Management Minimum GPA of 3.0 Sophomore class standing or above

ARMAGOST FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP IN MEMORY OF ROB ARMAGOST Scholarship established in memory of Rob Armagost to be awarded to students in the Industrial Technology Department at UNK. Preference is given to Industrial Technology majors who participate in a varsity intercollegiate athletic program sponsored by UNK.

BAMFORD FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established by the Bamford family to be awarded to students studying Construction Management at UNK.

ED BROADFOOT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established in memory of Ed Broadfoot. Scholarship is awarded to students studying Construction Management. Recipients must be graduates of Kearney High School or Elm Creek High School and have a desire to pursue a career in construction management.

DORA DAY INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by Dora Day in memory of her mother, Hazel Karner who attended Nebraska State Teachers College in 1918-1919. Scholarship is awarded to Freshman students studying Industrial Technology. Recipients must be graduates of Kearney High or Kearney Catholic High School.

FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is awarded to students who have: Junior class standing Major in Telecommunications Management Cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a 3.0 grade point average in department courses A member of the Telecommunications Management Student Leadership Group Completed ITEC 335 Enrolled in or completed ITEC 345 Demonstrate a professional attitude, character, quality of academic work and quality of communication skills.

INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM PARTNERS SCHOLARSHIP

KIEWIT BUILDING GROUP SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship sponsored by Kiewit Building Group headquartered in Omaha, NE to support and encourage students interested in construction management to continue their education. Kiewit holds the Construction Management program at UNK in high regard and has hired many graduates of the program. Recipients must demonstrate involvement defined as minimum of 2 extra curricular or volunteer activities in the past academic year.

FLOYD AND BETTY KRUBECK SCHOLARSHIP FUND Scholarship established in memory of Dr. Floyd E. Krubeck and Betty J. Krubeck. Dr. Krubeck graduated from Kearney State Teachers College in 1941. After earning a Masters Degree and Doctorate, he returned to UNK in 1955 to teach industrial education. In 1969 he was named the first dean of the school of Business and Technology at KSC. He retired in 1982. Betty was active in Faculty Wives and KSC Alumni Board. Scholarship is awarded to students studying Business Education or Industrial Technology.

NAHB/WEST CENTRAL NEBRASKA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to Students who are: Full-time Second semester freshman or above Majoring in Industrial Technology, Construction Management or Interior Design Member of the NAHB UNK student chapter GPA of 2.5

L.D. SUPPLY, INC. INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established for students studying Industrial Distribution. Recipients shall have junior or senior class standing and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

DAISY KUSKIE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship awarded to incoming freshman students studying Industrial Technology.

ORA F. AND ZELMA LINDAU FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship awarded to a student in the Industrial Technology Department with a GPA of 2.5 or above and has demonstrated financial need.

LARRY LUDDEN SCHOLARSHIP Given To: Incoming Freshman Majoring in Industrial Education Previous high school experience in Industrial Education and GPA will be considered

MOLEX, INC. INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to students: Majoring in Industrial Distribution Minimum GPA of 3.0 Sophomore class standing or above Actively involved in the Industrial Distribution Organization

MESSMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to students: Majoring in Industrial Technology At least a junior in class standing Pass academic achievement and demonstration of potential for future academic and professional accomplishments

NEBRASKA CONCRETE & AGGREGATES ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to: 2 undergraduates Majoring in Construction Management Sophomore or above class standing Cumulative GPA of 3.0

OTTO OLSEN INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given in memory of former Kearney State College Professor Otto Olsen. It is awarded to Sophomore or Junior level students majoring in Industrial Technology.

JAMES SCHMID MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to Students: Majoring in Industrial Distribution Demonstrated financial need

UNK EPSILON PI TAU SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship awarded to a member of UNK Epsilon Pi Tau Fraternity (Honorary Fraternity in the Industrial Technology Department).

WINWHOLESALE, INC SCHOLARSHIP Annual scholarship donated by WinWholesale, Inc. For the benefit of students in the Industrial Distribution Program.

WOMACK MACHINE SUPPLY CO ID SCHOLARSHIP Candidates shall be pursuing a major in Industrial Distribution at UNK. Candidate must have a sophomore, junior or senior standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above. Preference shall be given to students who have shown interest and focus on technical aspect of Industrial Distribution.

MARY BADGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to Student who are: Senior level Majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design GPA of at least 3.0

MARY HARSHFIELD BEEKMAN SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship in honor of Mary Harshfield Beekman, grandmother of Dr. Tami Moore, Professor in the Family Studies & Interior Design Department. Mary graduated from Kearney Normal School in 1909. Several of her children and grandchildren have attended and/or graduated from KSC and UNK. The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Family Studies, who are sophomore standing or above with a GPA of 3.5 and exhibit financial need.

SHARYN AND EDWARD CROSSMAN SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to students who are: Junior or Senior level student Majoring in Human Development and Family Relationships Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 Active in one or more department student organizations

DEBRA DIRKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established by the friends and family of Debra Dirks. The scholarship is awarded to students who are sophomore, junior or senior level majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students need to demonstrate financial need.

FAMILY STUDIES OUTSTANDING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to Students who are: Family Studies Major Graduates of any Nebraska high school full-time (15 hrs. minimum) Junior or senior status Minimum 2.5 GPA Demonstrated aptitude and potential for the profession Demonstrate financial need.

Scholarship was Established in 1965 in memory of Kay Christensen, who was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Kay passed away in 1965, from a brain tumor at the age of 21. She was President of the sorority. Scholarship is awarded to an upper-class student with a major or minor in Family Studies and Interior Design with a GPA of 3.0 or above. DELIA GARRETT SCHOLARSHIP Given To: Majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design The primary consideration in awarding this scholarship is financial need.

BERNICE D MANTOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to students who are: Junior or Senior level Majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design 2.5 GPA Selection based upon scholarship, accomplishments, professional goals and participation in campus activities

SCHRACK SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship established in honor of Hazel and Stella Schrack to provide financial assistance to student majoring in Family Studies and Interior Design.

GEORGIA WARREN SPELTS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by Carl Spelts in memory of his late wife Georgia Warren Spelts. Georgia taught Home Economics until she married. She also participated in the Kappa Omicron Phi, Home Economics Fraternity at Kearney State College. This scholarship is awarded to students in the Department of Family Studies and Interior Design who have achieved sophomore standing with a GPA of 3.0. Student also must have graduated from a Nebraska High School. Mrs. Spelts with her 9 th grade home economics class in Sutherland, NE

NATIONAL KITCHEN AND BATH ASSOCIATION AWARD Award given by the National Kitchen and Bath Association to students in Interior Design for outstanding work.

FAMILY STUDIES STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND This scholarship was created on behalf of Family Studies students in the FSID 404 Professional and Ethical Practices course. Part of the curriculum in that course is dedicated to skills and knowledge specific to fundraising. Graduates of this program will often find themselves involved with programs that are very dependent on fundraising and grant writing for funding. Each spring, students in this class divide into groups, plan, and then implement a group fundraiser. Money from this activity has been deposited with the Foundation annually to create and to maintain one $500 scholarship, per year, for a deserving Family Studies major.

CONTRYMAN ASSOCIATES ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship is awarded to seniors majoring in Accounting with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above. Students should be entering their 5 th year of education and in pursuit of the 150 credit hour accounting requirement.

JOHN E. AND BLANCHE M. GORGEN ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP FUND Awarded to students: Majoring in Accounting Senior class standing. Expressed a desire to pursue a career in the area of accounting Demonstrated financial need.

McDERMOTT & MILLER ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP Recipients must be majoring in Accounting and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Candidate shall have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the area of public accounting in Central Nebraska following graduation. Recipients must also be in pursuit of completing the credit hours required to qualify for the CPA exam.

NEBRASKA SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by the Nebraska Society of CPA s for student active pursuing a career on public accounting and working on completing the credit hours required to sit for the CPA exam.

UNK BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship was established in 1978 by the Business Department to provide financial assistance to students who are majoring in Accounting.

FIFTH YEAR SCHOLARSHIP Foundation of the Nebraska Society of CPAs 5th Year Scholarship for those pursuing CPA certification.

VERLYN R OBERING ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship given by Verlyn Obering as a Thank You to the college for the education he received. His accomplishments in life were made possible by the quality professors at Kearney State College. He would like students to know that they can receive a quality education at a smaller and lesser know school like UNK. This scholarship is awarded to upper-class students majoring in Accounting. Selection is based upon merit and financial need.

RAY E LUNDY SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is awarded to one or more graduate students of UNK in Business Administration. Selection is based on academic achievement and demonstration of potential for future academic and professional accomplishments.
