Emergency Vehicle Operators Course - $130 Highlands Public Safety Building TBA This 16-hour course instructs participants on how to properly operate an emergency vehicle, specifically an ambulance. This training meets or exceeds the State of Florida (FAC 64J-1.013) requirements for operation of an emergency vehicle. This course includes both classroom and practical application activities. Successful completion requires passing a written and practical driving examination. Participants must have a valid State of Florida drivers license and be at least 18 years old to participate. Emergency Medical Technician Refresher - $125 This 30-hour course meets or exceeds the State of Florida, FAC 64J-1.008 requirements for renewal of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. Instruction includes classroom and skills verification required by the 1994 US DOT EMT-Basic National Standard Curriculum. Upon completion of this course, the participant will receive a certificate of completion for verification of training. Handguns chambered in rifle calibers or fully automatic weapons will not be allowed.
