Box 4789 Fort Harrison, Montana 59636-4789 NGMT-JFQ-MPO 1 June 2017 MEMORANDUM FOR DISTRIBUTION SUBJECT: State Policy 190 th Chemical Recon Detachment (CRD), 19 th Special Forces Group (SFG) Airborne (A) Vacancy Fill Process 1. The intent of this policy is to establish and clarify the process for filling 74DxV positions (where x is any skill level) within the 190th CRD, 19th SFG (A). 2. Soldiers on the current Promotion Eligibility List (PEL) who do not meet the requirements listed in paragraph 4 below, as verified by the Battalion, in coordination with the Enlisted Personnel Manager (EPM) will not be offered the position. The vacancy will be offered to the next highest Soldier as listed on the applicable PEL who meets the requirements. 3. Lateral transfer requests must be coordinated through the Chain of Command. Soldiers eligible for lateral transfers must hold the 74D MOS at the appropriate skill level, and be otherwise fully qualified to hold the position in accordance with requirements listed in paragraph 4a thru 4e below. 4. In the event there are no qualified Soldiers on the PEL, the position will be offered through State Wide Advertisement (SWA). The unit commander will make selection from the applicants. If the SWA does not render any qualified applicants, the commander will be authorized to select an eligible Soldier and will coordinate approval and assignment through command channels. Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to apply: a. Soldier must meet height and weight standards In Accordance with (IAW) AR 600-9. b. Soldier must have a current passing APFT (IAW) AR 350-1, and acknowledge an understanding he/she must be able to run five (5) miles within 44-45 minutes prior to the start of airborne training. c. Soldier must be able to pass an Airborne/Ranger physical as outlined in AR 614-200, and AR 40-501, and be less than 36 years old on the date of application to airborne training. d. Soldier must have a valid security clearance, minimum status of SECRET.
