Box 15234 Reading, PA 19612 610.921.2381 To: Officials, Observers, and Supervisors The purpose of this memo is to provide you with the information you will need if you wish to attend the HOOP GROUP TEAM ELITE Officials Camp to be held on Friday June 29 th Sunday July 1 st 2018, in Reading Pennsylvania at Albright College. This camp is a teaching, training, instructional camp as well as an opportunity camp, and is being presented by Reggie Greenwood The Supervisor of Officials for the Ivy League and the Patriot Leagues. Albright College is set to host the event again this year. The camp will feature some of the most talented men's high school basketball teams in the Mid Atlantic region and has served as a hotbed of recruiting talent for NCAA Division 1 college coaches. Teams that participated in 2017 that have been Nationally Ranked in ESPN Rise 50 in 2017-18, Lincoln (NY), St. Patrick's (NJ), Gonzaga(DC), DeMatha (MD), Jamesville Dewitt(NY), Neumann-Goretti(PA), Penn Wood(PA), Roman Catholic(PA), Bishop McNamara(MD) etc. This year the camp will not be held during the open season for the NCAA, but will be filled with competitive teams. The camp will feature one day of lecture, and two days of roughly 130 games of high intensity, with some of the most talented and noted teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region which includes: Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC, and Virginia. The highlight of the camp will be the Championship games on Sunday, July 1 st, which the camps best teams will compete against each other.

We will meet at 7:30 am on Friday, June 29 th, at the Courtyard by Marriott for pictures, introductions of staff and campers, and lecture. We will end the day of lecture around 5:00 pm, and you will be free for the evening. The lecture will include: Areas of coverage, Primary, Secondary responsibilities, high Level officiating philosophy, a complete and thorough pre-game discussion, and end of game situations. There will also be Power Point presentation on post play as well as rough, intentional, and flagrant fouls. The games will begin on Saturday morning at 9:15 am, and the last game will start around 9:30 pm, at Albright College which is approximately three miles away. We will meet briefly on Saturday morning at 8:00 am at the Marriott to hand out the schedules and game rules and to summarize the objectives of the camp. After the last game has concluded on Saturday we
will meet back at the Courtyard hotel for refreshments. (Sodas, water, beer, pizza, etc ) We will meet at the Recreation Center Gym on Sunday morning, July 1 st, in the Annex meeting room (Second floor) at 7:30 am to discuss the previous day s games and to hand out assignments for Sunday s games. The games on Sunday will go from 9:30 am to conclude no later than 5:00 pm. The games scheduled for Sunday will be playoff and championship games, and will be very competitive. Staff will be available throughout the entire camp for feedback, comments and critiques. All officials are expected to attend the camp until their last assignment on Sunday. If you cannot attend the full camp, please decline this solicitation, as it would not be fair to those that attend the entire camp if you leave early. The most important part of the camp is the classroom lecture on the first day. Attire will be black shorts, black shoes, white socks, and black and white stripped shirt. The Camp will be run by: Reggie Greenwood, Supervisor of the IVY / PATRIOT LEAGUES, formerly (Supervisor for The Atlantic 10 from 2011-2014), officiated in the Big East, Big Ten, ACC, Atlantic-10, Colonial, The Big South, The Ivy League, The Patriot League, American East, and The CIAA (Div II) Other Observers will be: TBD For this camp, you will be observed and critiqued by several competent officials and Conference Observers. We will be working with all officials throughout the entire camp and providing feedback to you directly. This is a teaching camp as well as an opportunity camp. What you will be responsible for:
