Marymount Academy Rooted in Faith Lucie Cullen, Principal and Allison Simpson, Teacher at Marymount Academy and three students presented the Rooted in Faith presentation. The Rooted in Faith theme of the year was chosen by students and represents the school community. A mural of a tree is displayed at the school. The roots represent the Sisters of St. Joseph who founded the school, the grass represents teachers and staff, the leaves represent all students. Senior Administration and Trustees were invited to contribute to the mural. Our Vision: Sudbury Catholic Schools Creating hopes and dreams through excellence. Our Mission: To nurture and develop the mind, body and spirit of every student within our Catholic learning community. SCHOOLS TO BELIEVE IN

REG16-51 2. Special Regular Board Meeting held May 5 th, 2016 MOVED BY Ray Desjardins Seconded by Tyler Peroni THAT the minutes of the Special Regular Board Meeting of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board held May 5 th, 2016 be approved as presented. REG16-52 BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES There was no business arising from the minutes. BUSINESS 1. Expenditure Analysis/Variance (April 2016) The Expenditure Analysis/Variance report for April 2016 was presented. Trustee Cameron requested that a detailed report be provided on the priority areas identified for the in-year surplus. Staff indicated that a music and physical education equipment inventory is being completed to determine what new equipment is required. All expenses will remain within the final surplus amount. MOVED BY Nancy Deni Seconded by Tyler Peroni THAT the Sudbury Catholic District School Board receives the April 2016 Expenditure Analysis/Variance Report as presented and approves the reinvestment of additional identified surplus in the areas noted above. REG16-53 2. Monitoring Report EL100 Asset Protection The Monitoring Report EL100 Asset Protection was presented.

Monitoring Report EL160 Admission to Catholic Schools The Monitoring Report EL160 Admission to Catholic Schools was presented. MOVED BY Estelle Scappatura Seconded by Nancy Deni THAT the Sudbury Catholic District School Board receives the Director of Education s Monitoring Report on Policy EL160 Admission to Catholic Schools. REG16-55 4. Tender Re-Roofing (Immaculate Conception, Pius XII & St. Anne) The tender numbers 201620, 201617 and 2016027 for the Partial Re-Roofing of Immaculate Conception, Pius XII and St. Anne was presented. MOVED BY Jody Cameron Seconded by Nancy Deni THAT the Sudbury Catholic District School Board awards Projects 2016020, 2016017, and 2016027 for the Partial Re-Roofing at Immaculate Conception, Pius XII and St. Anne Schools to Flynn Canada Ltd. (Michael Lumly), in the amount of $599,381.00, excluding all applicable taxes. REG16-56 5. Tender St. Charles College (Library) The tender #2016014 for the Phase 4 of the Library Renovations at St. Charles College was presented. MOVED BY Nancy Deni Seconded by Jody Cameron THAT the Sudbury Catholic District School Board awards Project 2016014 for the Phase 4, Library Renovations at St. Charles College to JN Construction (Rina Titton, President), in the amount of $299,700.00 excluding all applicable taxes. REG16-57

6. Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Minutes The SEAC Minutes from the meeting held on April 21 st, 2016 were presented. MOVED BY Jody Cameron Seconded by Nancy Deni THAT the Sudbury Catholic District School Board receives the minutes of the SEAC meeting that was held April 24 th, 2016. REG16-58 REPORTS 1. Report of the Chair/Director The Chair reported that during the month he attended a St. Francis Bingo Fundraiser in the Valley and the official opening of the Snoezelen Room at St. Charles College. Trustees attended the OCSTA AGM held in Collingwood. The Chair reported that he attended a session with representatives from all of the four local boards in Sudbury to welcome international agents. Sudbury Catholic was extremely well represented. The Director attended the Province Wide Mass during Education Week at St. Benedict CSS where the symbolic Door of Mercy was blessed. The Director invited all trustees to attend the PIC Session being held at Marymount Academy on June 1 st at 6:00 p.m. and a presentation by Dr. Clinton on June 15 th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Charles College. 2. Report of the Student Trustee The new student trustee Emma Jessop was introduced and welcomed. J. Bates-Wright presented the Student Trustee Report and highlighted various school activities that occurred during the month. 3. Preliminary Draft 2016-17 Operating Budget The preliminary Draft 2016-17 Operating Budget was presented. Trustee Peroni left the meeting at 8:00 p.m. C. Corallo confirmed that many of the EPOs are now included and imbedded in the GSN. The final preliminary 2016-17 Operating Budget will be brought to the June Board Meeting for approval. 4. Monthly Enrolment Report April 2016 The April 2016 Monthly Enrolment Report was presented. CORRESPONDENCE Miscellaneous correspondence was presented. INQUIRIES
