Vall d Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus The Vall d Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus is an international reference institution in healthcare, research, education and innovation. It is composed by four centres: the Vall d Hebron University Hospital, the Vall d Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR), the Vall d Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) and the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Catalonia (Cemcat), working together with the same pioneering spirit and a common goal: to improve health and wellbeing of citizens. We have specialized units with frontline professionals trained to deal with the most complex cases in all stages of life, since before birth to elderly age. Vall Hebron is the only hospital in Catalonia that offers all the transplant programmes for patients under 18. Every year 2,000 of these type of transplants are done in our hospital. We are able to treat complex chronic diseases from a comprehensive approach. That is why we are the best paediatric oncology hospital in Spain and the leading centre for stem cell transplants, with more than 1200 performed so far.

We do clinical research to improve the quality of future medicine 10 research groups 34 research lines dedicated to women s and children s diseases The main goal of any research centre is to identify and apply new solutions to the health problems of our society, with an international outlook. With the aim of creating a disruptive innovation based on curiosity and imagination, we start from our daily health problems arising from the hospital. We transfer to society the knowledge developed in our research centres. More than 100 medical residents a year Vall d Hebron is a university hospital with more than 40 years of experience in training medicine and nurse specialists. In 2016, the Women s & Children s Hospital trained 105 doctor and nurse residents from 7 medical specialities. To these we must add another 52 professionals who made an internship. In this last case is quite usual between professionals who want to increase the knowledge in their particular specialization working side by side with the best in their field.
