ABOUT FUND 17 Tools, resources and support to transform hustles into livelihoods We are a small but growing 501c3 nonprofit organization with the goal of turning hustles into livelihoods in the 17 wards of New Orleans. We provide free training and resources to entrepreneurial community members including 1-on-1 business development support, workshops and loan advising. Founded in 2012 as a student-run nonprofit, we have grown into a diverse and robust community of entrepreneurs, partners, professionals and students dedicated to creating economic opportunity for all.

COMMUNITY BUSINESS INCUBATOR Members of this small business resource center will have access to: Technology Computers, printers, cameras and software Business Assistance Build credit, meet Fund 17 staff, access members-only training events Community Monthly networking sessions, peer-topeer learning sessions Office amenities Rentable meeting room, collaborative work space, business mailing address

INVESTING AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD LEVEL In 2017, WK Kellogg Foundation supported Fund 17 research in the 7th and 8th wards. We found: 30% of surveyed homes claimed entrepreneurial activity 87% of entrepreneurs stated they would use a Community Business Incubator in their neighborhood

INCUBATOR MEMBERS Fund 17 entrepreneurs represent a variety of industries and professions. The Community Business Incubator will prioritize low-income community members and under-resourced entrepreneurs. Memberships will be available on a sliding scale and will assist in building credit.

WORK BAR + HOST DESK On the perimeter of the community workspace, a bar will become a dynamic place for working on desktops or having a 1-on-1 meeting. The corner of the bar will also be the Incubator Host's desk, where visitors and members can receive assistance. what we need 5 desktop PCs, monitors and keyboards (~$850/each) 4 noise canceling headphones (~$150) TV screen for community announcements (~$600) Host station phone (~$80) 5 chairs (~$75 each)

COMMUNITY WORKSPACE This ~280 square foot space will be an open, collaborative place for members to sit down and work on a rented laptop, meet with each other or meet with Fund 17 staff. A print station and general office supplies will be accessible to members here. what we need 1-4 tables, to fit 10 people (~$200 each) 10 chairs (~$50 each) 10 Chromebooks or laptops (~$300 each) 2 wireless office printers (~$150 each) Printer ink and printer paper (~$1000) General office supplies like pens, staplers, scissors, etc. (~$500) 5 noise canceling headphones (~$150 each)

CLASSROOM+ MEETING ROOM This 250 sq ft space has been donated by Alembic Community Development. Fund 17 will host workshops in this space and use it for 1-on-1 trainings. Members can also rent this space for their own purposes. When not in private use, it will be open for collaborative co-working. what we need Furniture has been donated by Alembic Community Development Speakers for use with classroom projector (~$100) Large projector screen (~$100) Window shades for 2 windows (~$75 each) Large mobile whiteboard (~$300) Conference phone (~$200)

RESOURCE LIBRARY In addition to space and computers, we will offer members a library of equipment and resources that they can rent and use for their business. These resources will assist in boosting marketing, increasing sales, amplifying business events and more. what we need Photo tent with lighting (~$80) Books on business, entrepreneurship Projector (~$500), mobile projector screen (~$200) Sound system (~$200) 3 tablets (~$100 each) 2 digital cameras (~$600 each) Secured, lockable storage and bookshelves (~$800 total)

OTHER START-UP NEEDS In addition to in-kind donations of technology and supplies, Fund 17 is raising funds to support other start-up costs of opening the space. Additional funds beyond the below list will go towards programming and management of the Incubator. Microsoft Operating System ($16/per 15 computers) = $240 Microsoft Office ($29/per 15 computers) =$435 Adobe Creative Suite ($239 per 3 computers)=$719 Local artist-created mural in classroom= $3,000 Local artist-created donor wall mural = $2,000 Supplies for build-out including glass installation, lighting and fixtures = $3,000 Signage and branding= $2,000 Credit-building systems set-up and maintenance = $3,000 Coworking software, $50/month = $600

DONOR RECOGNITION Fund 17 is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax-deductible. Donors who contribute cash or in-kind donations valued at $1,000 or more will receive name and/or logo on a prominent donor wall. Donors will also be invited to opening ceremonies for the Community Business Incubator and the Rose Collaborative campus. Name and/or logo will also be featured on our website, in our annual report, in social media and a newsletter.
