The MASCAC Week in Review: April 12, 2004 Baseball Player of the Week: Bob Montalto, Worcester State, Sophomore, Outfielder (Hudson/Nashoba Regional): Montalto earns his second consecutive Player of the Week award after hitting.550 (11 for 20) while helping Worcester to a perfect record last week. He belted a pair of home runs, collected 10 runs, 10 runs batted in, two doubles and a triple as the Lancers won five times last week to extend their winning streak to six games. Pitcher of the Week: Josh White, Bridgewater State, Junior (Brockton, MA): White improved to 3-1 on the season with a complete game, eleven strikeout performance in Bridgewater s game one victory versus Salem State. He scattered 5 hits over seven innings while walking two. White is currently among the league leaders in wins (3) and strikeouts (34). Utility Player of the Week: Ben Tyer, Massachusetts College, Shortstop/Pitcher, Senior (Lee, MA): Tyer earned the win on the mound in the Trailblazers 11-0 victory at Salem State in the second game of a doubleheader split. He also had a strong week at the plate where he was 11 for 19 (.579) with six runs scored and four runs batted in. Tyer swiped five stolen bases and added four doubles during the week.
