POST #1 NEWS & VIEWS Volume IX Issue II Special points of interest: Commander s Desk Calendar Meeting Minutes General Information Upcoming Events Auxiliary Notes Inside this issue: From the Commander s Desk Calendar 1 1 See newsletters & other information on our website at: www.legionpost1.org. FROM THE COMMANDER S DESK PEOPLE NEED RESPONSIBILITY. THEY RESIST ASSUMING IT. BUT THEY CANNOT GET ALONG WITHOUT IT. -John Steinbeck The principal at the school I work at often includes quotes along with his daily schedule of events. The quote above is one such quote. It strikes me that those words also apply to Legionnaires. We were responsible for defending our Country. Most of us went into our service willingly. Some resisted, all of us ended up doing it. After we got out, looking back, we all are proud of our service, our responsibility that we had and justly so. We joined the American Legion to serve again, only this time on a more local level. Let s take up the responsibility that b being a Post member entails. Let s do it willingly! A reminder that if you are going to attend the Post Annual Banquet, I urge you to please let me know either by calling me at 262-377-2613 or sending the RSVP form to the Post. Lets have as good a turnout as last year. The meal is free to Legionnaires and spouses, auxiliary members and SAL members. We are in need of door prizes for those attending. I would like each of you who are attending to please bring one. Thank you. March, 2010 Meeting Minutes 2 Please keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers.
