Your Support Made 2014 Our Best Year Yet Happy New Year from the PMI Educational Foundation! As we kick off 2015, we re celebrating how far we ve come and looking forward to what is on the horizon for PMIEF. Related Resources Why I Give Share Your Story In 2014 our two new resources became the most downloaded documents or the year. Check them out and see how you might be able to use them in your communities. A Q&A with Roberto Toledo, PMP, Board of Directors, PMI Educational Foundation. Read about how Roberto first became involved with the PMI Educational Foundation. How do you plan to use project management to help your community in 2015?

Your Support Made 2014 Our Best Year Yet Incredible! This past year you helped bring project management skills to over 9,000 children around the world. And that s just a fraction of all that you made possible. "We truly could not accomplish all of this without the support, generosity and time of our donors and volunteers. We look forward to another impactful year ahead spreading project management for social good," says Mike DePrisco, VP of Academic and Educational Programs and COO of PMIEF. You are truly helping to make a difference. 2014 impact: Hundreds of teachers, in addition to more than 9,000 youth, like students at the Center for Digital Inclusion in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, learned project management, and we suspect there are many more. Plus, nine new grants provided funding to other likeminded nonprofit and non-governmental organizations, which enabled PMIEF to advance its vision to bring project management into schools around the globe. Research was completed that identified ways in which project management education can be delivered in careerrelated educational programs in secondary schools, as is already happening in Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Washington, USA. This research will be used to formulate Students in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. new resources, as well as inform strategic direction. Through your feedback, resources are now easier to download and scholarships are easier to apply for with our new userfriendly website. In 2014 alone, we have seen more than 16,213 no-cost resources downloaded from the site! Among those are two new resources, which became the most popular downloaded documents of 2014: The 21st Century Skills Map Project Management for Learning connects project management skills, 21st century skills, and career pathways;; and the Project Management Toolkit for Teachers. The Disaster Management Task Team made up of subject matter experts, academicians, and advanced practitioners in project management, disaster management, and disaster relief is working to identify ways in which project management can help those affected by disasters to recover and rebuild in the most effective and efficient ways possible. Students in Seattle, Washington, USA. Dozens of academic and professional scholarships were awarded. In 2015, we will: Continue our scholarship and awards programs, as well as establish new professional development scholarships. Create new resources for use in secondary schools, as well as continue to update and translate existing resources. Continue to provide funding to other nonprofit and non-governmental organizations and pilot project management programs with key disaster management organizations, as well as educational career pathway programs. Launch a badging program for students and teachers who learn project management. Further enhance the structure of PMIEF to support the rapid growth we ve witnessed over the past few years. Thank you for being a part of our story and the stories of thousands of youth around the world. You, and every other donor and volunteer who support us, make PMIEF the strong, thriving organization it is today. Thank you!

Related Resources In 2014 we released two new no-cost resources. Click the links below to read more maybe you can use them this coming year! 21st Century Skills Map Project Management for Learning provides a crosswalk between project management skills, 21st century skills and career pathways. Project Management Toolkit for Teachers provides a modular, user-friendly resource that teachers can use to help prepare secondary-school students to be college and career ready.

Why I Give Q&A with Roberto Toledo, PMP, Board of Directors, PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) Q: When did you first get involved with PMIEF? A: I found out about the PMI Educational Foundation through a business partner. Six years ago, Michelle LaBrosse, CEO of Cheetah Learning, LLC told me about the donation she had just made to the Foundation and how excited she was about contributing to bring project management education outside of our profession. I was immediately interested in knowing what the Foundation was doing and if there was something I could do to help. Q: Why did you make your first gift to PMIEF? A: I remember it was for a very personal reason, and though it was a small donation, at that time it made me feel very good. I owe my entire career and the success of the training company that I own to the project management profession. So, for me, it was a small token of appreciation to give back to my profession, just one of the many rewards I have received personally and professionally over the years. Q: What keeps you giving back to PMIEF? A: I have to mention two reasons. First, because I know of the great work and big impact that the Foundation is having in the lives of so many individuals offering them opportunities to receive a skill that will help them achieve their goals. Second, because over time I have decided to also volunteer my time to PMIEF, and it is expected from me to also contribute financially;; something I do happily! Q: What do you hope your gift will do to advance PMIEF and/or its mission? A: First of all, I know that I m putting my money in very good hands. I m a first-row witness of the professionalism of the staff and the incredible passion of its volunteers. Also, I know that PMIEF is producing a big impact on the lives of a lot of people, including youngsters who ve been taught a new skill that will allow them to be more successful;; professionals that were able to receive financial aid to achieve a professional development goal;; or nonprofit managers who are now better prepared to serve their communities. Contributing to spread the benefits of our profession to others around the world is truly one of the more rewarding experiences I have had in my professional career!
